And They're Off!

Yesterday's last day with the August Quiltvillians 2.0 (2.0 because we have 2 groups in August!) had most of us going in opposite directions to do different things -

While I went to Costco in Winston Salem to pick up my new glasses, a handful of ladies went over to Blowing Rock, NC to visit Mountain Threads.

Our wheels were going in opposite directions!

Some quick group photo taking happened in the morning before we jetted off, and then we gathered again in the afternoon to see what all had accomplished.

Before I left I took a quick look around to see what was in the making - love these birch trees!

Upon my return all was sewn together!

Many Hearts of Hope for Ukraine blocks from my Solidarity PDF pattern became small quilts to share with others. I love the feather quilting on this one!

Tree-mendous is finished!

This Unity center became a table topper.

This top - portraying as a table topper is from this book:

It's called Spot On!

Blue Onion finish!  Wow!

And those glasses?  HAPPY DAY!

My other pair is very similar to the ones I already had (And liked) so these are a bit different for me.

I love the silver.  I like that they are kind of horn-rimmed looking but not really.

Best part?  The lenses have gotten better and are thinner!  The transitions go darker faster, and also lighten up quicker when back indoors.

I am such a happy camper.  And pardon the sweaty hair - it was over 90 and humid in Winston-Salem yesterday.

I was back in time for all of the over-the-porch-rail photo activities!

Old Town and Spot On!

The Unity topper and Old Town.

Unity  and the Hearts of Hope from Solidarity small quilt.

An Old Town Halloween!

Check out the back!

Silk Path variation and Blue Onion

Two Old Towns and Laying Tracks

All of the Old Town quilts on parade!

Bye bye, August 2.0!

Thank you for another glorious week - and we'll see you back next year!

Today - hitting the ground running. making all things ready for the Stitch Mob arriving tomorrow afternoon.

I also have some studio redo going next door and I'll share more on that as it happens.

It also means finally getting that new computer set up - all of my files are backed up - why does this make me so nervous? (I hate change and I admit it.)

I am so thrilled with the response to the Abundance pattern release!

I can't wait to see these blocks popping up as you share what you are making.

Log Cabin Love!

If you love log cabin quilts you will also love the simple scrappy paper piecing of the gently curved appearance of these blocks! 100% foundation paper pieced for scrappy perfection! Printable paper templates included.

This pattern assumes that the maker has some experience with foundation paper piecing and following a foundation paper piecing template.

Quilt Size: 90’’ X 90’’

The PDF pattern for Abundance is currently marked 25% off in the digital pattern section of the Quiltville Store - No Coupon Needed.  On sale through 8/31/25, Hurry!

  4. The Blue Onion is so neat! Seeing the Unity quilts reminded me that mine has been a top for too long now and needs to be finished, so we'll put it on the list. I do like the Unity table topper; I'm keeping it as a possible Fall idea. And I got new sunglasses from Costco a few weeks ago and they are perfect! And service was great.
