The July Quiltvillians have been on "Cat Watch" and at different times of the day my phone and email are pinging with captured moments of how the guard cats are protecting the inn and all the quilters within at any given moment.
Hahahahaha! This is the view through the front door window sent to me yesterday evening.
I had taken off a bit early as Hubster Dave asked if I wanted to go to the movies. (Absolutely yes!)
And evidently while the innkeeper is away, the cats will.....snooze?
I am loving that they have each other. When folks aren't around, it's a very solo life for Tula.
Now if only we can get this handsome fella to TRUST!
Holiday blocks and quilts are still happening! Look at Rudy!
These cute blocks are designed by Fandom in Stitches. But just so you know...their site comes up as insecure as they don't support https.
Abominable Bumble! So cute!
Even the filler blocks are adorable!
(I may have contributed the grinch fabric for this one!)
Happy quilters, all through the weekend!
Great beginnings here -
I'm watching things grow!
It's called Christmas Memories and is an easy fun one.
Later in the day the bottom half was ready! Can't wait to see this one over the porch rail for this afternoon's photo shoot.
Several different cuties happening here!
This is a Jewel Box Stars from an earlier Leader & Ender challenge found under the Free Patterns tab.
Melody is setting it on point and it is looking fabulous!
Turkey Tracks blocks and something fun as an alternate - what's this going to be?
Oh! I love this setting!
I had to go to the storage room for more boxes of tissues as one of the baths was out, and I caught of glimpse of loveliness through the open bedroom door and had to step in for a photo.
Love this Jacob's Chain on this bed!! And what's that on the far bed by the window?
Don't you know these quilters had quilty dreams dancing in their heads all night after quilting all day?
And if you look at this mess and can commiserate, please say so!
The bins are FULL! (Note: They only look exploding here because I fluffed them digging for the right piece of something....LOL!)
I may be diving into another project.
Let's just say I needed a day off from the flying geese that are on the scrappy main project I've been working on.
I can't really get the lid on the blue string bin anymore. It's bulging.
So there may be some of this happening.
Even though I have other things on the must make list.
What happens in a mere 3 months?
Yes that.
But maybe I'll reserve Sundays as a "play with whatever you want" kind of day.
Besides - who can resist Woodstock??
Whatever I end up with, it better be King Sized as this blue bin needs to go WAY DOWN.
And let's just say I was rewarding myself with a bit of leniency on what I was working on because I cleared my cutting table at home.
That means all of the strips were sorted and returned to where they go. The piles of fat quarters I'd had out for various things were put back in their bins by color family.
Any bets on how long it will stay this way??
Our Abbeygate release was a hit! I'm so thrilled to hear that so many of you have been setting your scraps aside with this quilt in mind and I can't wait to see what you do with this one.

We'll draw for our winners on 7/28/25.
Good luck, everyone!
Or, if you are feeling like I am - with so much surrounding you and buckets and bins bursting their lids -
If it can't be solved, you can always lose yourself in sewing up the fabric!
Have a marvelous Monday, everyone!

WOW! That's a lot of strings! Make something beautiful ❤️.
ReplyDeleteYes, the yearly mystery is closing in.
Great pic of the kitties on the porch.
I've been quilting all weekend. Old Town is ready for binding.
I'm commiserating what will be my next main quilt project. I've been racking my brain trying to think of what I'm in the mood for.
Oh well, it'll come
Have a Sparkling day
Blessings 💞 🙏
I love the Rudy and Bumble blocks! And the pictures of Tula and Flash! Maybe one day I’ll get to come for a retreat.
ReplyDeleteI would love to take a swim in your blue string bin! I keep wanting to start a string quilt, I don’t ave enough of one color to do what I want to do. I barely have one bin of all the colors together. Maybe one day….
ReplyDeleteBut, I can’t wait to see what you are tackling now!
I'm surprised you didn't find Lola in one of those bins. LOL! Would make a comfy cat bed. Mary from FL
ReplyDeleteYour string bins remind me of "Jack-in-the-Box" popping open! I just keep stuffing into the same tub so soon I'll have one too!
ReplyDeletethe guard cats are just TOO much!! hope you enjoyed your movie date- while working on a row quilt I have managed 3 leader ender blocks so far- Bonnie they are so fun and I CAN work it the way it is "supposed" to be. Now to hunt for a new to me long armer- anyone have suggestions in Illinois?
ReplyDeleteI wonder is Flash is related to Ivy? Perhaps the other cat you and Dave heard meowing when Ivy came to stay? He doesn’t act like a Tom unaltered. Perhaps he is fixed as was Ivy.
ReplyDelete"Christmas Memories" would look great in any color combo. Ellen Thompson
ReplyDeletePerhaps Ivy and Flash are related? He may the cat that was crying when Ivy came to stay.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got a Movie Date. Those strings are great fun. Fluffy them up, then a cat will come sit in them. I bound a Charity quilt to take back to my Tri-City Quilt Guild today. Need more stitching time. Flash is good company for Tula!
ReplyDeleteYou have to get home and put your things away and sit for a minute. Thats what I'm betting!
