Little Things Become Big Things!

I've given updates here and there on what has been happening with the bricks from the wall that fell thanks to Hurricane Helene last year.

Our son Jeff is a wonderful landscaper and his specialty is hardscaping patios, porches, extensions, outdoor kitchens, planter containers and more.

We've been extremely lucky that he has given his time and talents to improving the yard at Quiltville Inn using the old wall bricks to outline bushes and planter areas, and he finished up this little eye sore yesterday.

I caught this photo through the window screen in the Quilting Quarters as he was hard at work below.

He shows up early, works until the day gets too hot or a thunderstorm rolls in making things too wet.

We appreciate him so much - especially as we get older and aren't able to do these kind of things as well as we used to.

And the ladies enjoy him too!

He is always up for "Come fix yourself a plate, Jeff!" after everyone has had their share.

Even better - since I get to see him more often, I get more hugs from my man-child.  It's priceless.

And he loves what we are doing here. I love that he feels part of it all.

In the back of my mind the wheels are turning that when I am old and grey, Jeff and Ashlyn can take Quiltville Inn over and keep running it, and just prop me up in a rocking chair with a few fat quarters to pet and I'll be happy.

I can see it all in my mind, in due time, a long long way down the road.

But it's a long way off and we have loads of quilting to do!

Someone is building a car themed quilt in the dining room!

Sweet little block kits are here...

And churn dashes are on the design wall.

Little kits and quilty boxes are a great retreat project. This one from Fig Tree will be finished this week!

Stripey pinwheels are becoming:

Ooohh!  Wonderful!

Another small project found and coming together!

Sew much creativity happening!

Sew much laughing and talking and solving of world problems
(If they'd only listen to the wisdom of women of a certain age!)

Making progress with every stitch!

I zeroed right in on this Halloween Basket -

Halloween bats in progress!

Halloween in July? Yes please!

Someone's cutting apart a cute panel here -

Something fun is in the making here!

Oh wow - this is going to be neat!

By the end of the day we were this far -

Gaggles of geese on the wall here!

We are having a marvelous time and we've got several days left to go.

Today (Saturday) is half-way day.  Time for washing all of the towels, kitchen towels and other linens and giving them back fresh for the rest o their stay.

I didn't get started on the quilting of the little Old Town topper yet, but maybe today in between running loads.

Weekends tell me I need to slow down and enjoy them a bit more, so there will be some porch sitting and visiting.

How about your own plans for the weekend?

    I Love Halloween time too!
I loaded my next quilt in the queue so I will be quilting Dancing 9 Patch today. Yesterday was spent cutting my basket of scraps into usable sizes and loading the quilt for today.
Old Town will be next for quilting.
    Have a wonderful weekend!
    Blessings 💞🙏

  2. My Quilt Guild is having a Yard Sale inside. Hope to get rid of a few things I bought twice and gifted flannel fabrics that aren't going to get used in my lifetime.

Your son is quilting with blocks - just cement blocks! I love that he enjoys being up there so much and hope your dream comes true!
