I could hear the laughter all the way from the bottom of the front walk near the mailbox. As I came up the steps and got close to the front door, it only became more boisterous and definitely infections putting a smile on my face before I even knew WHAT they were laughing about!
I walked into the room and the laughter got louder as if they had been caught in the act!
"Are your ears burning?" was the question as laughter and giggles continued.
It was bound to be another fun day in the company of the Quilt District girls - and we were off to a grand start!
While everyone was finishing their breakfast I quickly went around the sewing room to get some in-progress shots - I had been so busy people-izing the day before that there were not photos sharing enough of what folks were working on.
I'm loving this crumb pieced star that is happening here!
More pieces in production - such fun fabrics!
This medallion I even have a bit of a hand in - some red fabric was needed and I ran right to my stash and pulled out a piece to finish the large flying geese so she can get this beauty set together.
More "It takes a village" and it feels so good to be part of what's going on.
Sherri has something really special going on here - there will be loads more applique.
Little stringy strippy fishes - so cute!
Baby quilt top for a grand-niece-to-be. So sweet!
The Hen Den continued to be a space of handwork and relaxing. These two are quite the crack up and I love having them in the house!
There is beautiful hand quilting happening here -
The entire quilt has been hand stitched with love.
Some gorgeous New York Beauty type piecing going on here as well.
Our early afternoon was filled with a quilt show and share, using the bed in bedroom 5 as our "display surface"
SOME of my photos turned out. Some turned out really blurry and are just downright bad. I'll see what I can do to edit what I can.
Tara Miller of The Quilt District was videoing everything and I know she'll upload it to her Youtube channel when she has a chance, so when she does, I'll post that.
This morning we are attempting (It's foggy right now!) to do an over-the-porch-rail photo shoot before a couple of their group have to depart back toward Raleigh. It's all weather depending. Yesterday it rained all day so we haven't had ANY outside opportunities yet that weren't wet.

I'm still deep in binding mode -
I've finished binding 2 sides with 2 left to go, along with stitching down the hanging sleeve and label.
I tried to get Lola to look at me and catch her with the Disco Cat on the backing, but she wasn't having any of it.
I will be drawing for ONE lucky winner who will receive BOTH of these adorable Summit St. Boxes AND the Fabric Floozy Tee!
Get your entry in on that post and we'll be drawing for our winner on Wednesday 4/16/25.
The sheer number of things I have passed by just because there were too many ingredients!
I'd rather be quilting!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

DeleteCute!
I admire all the projects the Quilt District gals are working on! Such beautiful detailed work. I hope we get to see more of Sherri's applique project--it gives me ideas for a wallhanging for my neice.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely YES on passing on recipes with too many ingredients. I'd rather be quilting too! Jenny
Too many ingredients now includes too many eggs not going to make it and break the bank
ReplyDeletealways love to see works in progress...so much inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYep - if a recipe has 2 columns or pages of ingredients - nope. And now unless 2 of the ingredients are salt and pepper - I stop looking at recipes with more than 8 ingredients! I also am not running to the store for a missing ingredient!!
ReplyDeleteSo fun to see many different quilts being made! The one above the iron especially. I look forward to seeing the porch quilts tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the finished crumb lonestar! I'll bet it looks like stained glass! And I usually find a recipe and start making it, then realize I don't have the 1 ingredient that would make or break it. Sigh. Takeout/leftovers again.
ReplyDeleteYes! To the no-go on recipes with a million ingredients. Also to recipes that include an ingredient I have never heard of. Most of them are $10 a bottle and you only need 1/2 tsp. of it!
ReplyDeleteHappy quilting. Barb K
Good to know that there are still hand quilters out there - the blue/white quilt is beautiful ! BTW - Today's quote is totally accurate lol
ReplyDeleteWhat always gets me with recipes is that I think "That sounds great - I need to make that today!" only to find that I'm missing ONE thing...sour cream, chopped nuts, a can of pineapple, cream cheese, Cool Whip, graham cracker crumbs, you name it - it's always ONE thing keeping me from trying it! Then by the time I put that one thing on the shopping list and get it the next time I'm at the store, I've lost the recipe... Can't win! - Jane
ReplyDeleteIf anyone knows the name of the fish block pattern, please post it! It's just too cute!!
ReplyDeleteYep, too many ingredients or steps, no go! Happy Quilters make pretty good company at the Inn. Love the picture in the Hen Den.
ReplyDeleteLove all the quilting. What’s the name of the pink quilt hanging up on the wall in The Hen Den? Dianne
ReplyDeleteAll of these quilts are wonderful, and a real variety of style and color. Bonnie, do you hand write your labels or make with a machine? I would love to see a sample.
ReplyDeleteAnd nix the recipes with too many items..my time quilting is more important.
Curious as to what happened to the wonderful video of the quilts that were brought for show and tell. Am I just not looking in the correct place? I've wanted to share with others but just can't find it. Also wondering if any of these wonderful ladies are planning quilt designs for America's 250th birthday! Just around the corner and some of us are much slower with our project conpletion than others. Barbara
