You guys, it was 75 out?!?!?! It felt all kinds of wrong, but then there have been loads of weird things on my 2024 bingo card.
I'm not complaining. I know when Mother Nature decides she has done enough making up for what befell us during Hurricane Helene she will throw some winter weather our way and we'll be looking back at these balmy October/November days as the gift they are.
Porch weather in November? It's happening.
And....there just may well be ONE MORE fire pit opportunity this weekend because - why not?
Webbing in progress!
*Note to self and everyone else* No, that is NOT a filter on your phone camera - please take time to clean the dang lenses before taking more photos. LOL!!
What a difference a clean camera lens makes!
Hazy schmazy? Clean the lens!
But look -
The November Quiltvillians have several members working on Scrappy Mountain Majesties quilts from the Free Patterns tab!
Many are also working with recycled shirts - which makes me so completely over the moon happy.
So much fun!
Blocks on design walls!
Blocks next to a folded log cabin mini -
Blocks going up in turquoise batiks - beautiful!
More being pushed through the machine -
Sets in Asian prints, ready to assemble into blocks.
As for me? I spent the day filling ruler order after yesterday's Quiltville Winter Mystery introduction post! Did you catch it?
You'll find all things pertaining to our Old Town mystery under the Old Town Mystery Tab at the top of the blog.
Thank you thank you thank you!
Just a note - I am leaving on Tuesday 11/5 for Arizona to spend a week with my dad. I'll return late on 11/12. I likely won't resume shipping until 11/14.
The mystery starts 11/22. If you are thinking of ordering rulers or anything that needs to be shipped in the mail, orders need to come in before Monday 11/4 by NOON Eastern so I have time to get them out to you.
Thanks for understanding! It's been a year since I've hugged my dad and I'm really looking forward to some Arizona time.
I did get some stitching in last night!
I keep moving closer to the center! I turned another corner last night....and I love that the sides get shorter and shorter as I work my way toward the middle.
I love this quilt more and more!
This also must mean that I finished stitching down the binding, label and hanging sleeve on County Clare. I did! And I was going to get finished photos yesterday, but I just didn't get to it.
Hopefully today.
Zpey, this morning. Snoozing away.
I think some of the October Quiltvillians are planning on a shop-hop day today. They've got my paint chips in hand and are off to enhance their stashes with colors for Old Town. Have you pulled fabrics yet?
As for me - I think things are well in hand enough that I can sit and feed some pieces through the machine.
Why did I spend all of that time cutting from my red yardage stash because I was on empty as far as pre-cut scrap strips went?
Because I used them all in Old Town! Hahahaha. That is why I needed a restocking of the reds.
And now you know where they went. I'm excited to be making something red/cream through the holidays ahead.
Let the fun begin.
Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Life on repeat! LOL!
Happy Friday, everyone!
Happy Friday, everyone!
LOL Bonnie! Love today's quote! Today I sure hope I will complete a bunch of chores I've been putting off for, well, more than 6 months. If I do get them done, will I have learned anything? Nope. I know I'll just cycle through procrastinating on those chores again.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you so much for shipping the 3 in 1 color tool to me so fast! I was so surprised to see the shipping notice email yesterday afternoon. Wow! So enough procrastinating now and I will go do some of those long put off chores. I will, I will. Sigh...we'll see. I get distracted so easily.
The yellow and black quilt with the fussy white cuts is gorgeous. Anyone know the pattern?
ReplyDeleteAround the Twist or sometimes Round the Twist
DeleteI have so.much fabric in my stash that I don't need to shop. Red, pink, turqoise, neutrals - I've got this. I sat out a couple of times, but I think I'll jump in this time.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how we put simple chores off? I'm in that same boat with you!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I wish you the best relaxing trip ever as you spend time with your Dad. **hugs** Jenny
I know, it was 75* here yesterday too! Very balmy.
ReplyDeleteEveryone's projects looks wonderful . I have all my fabrics pulled and I'm ready for the 22 nd. I have the rulers already too. It'll be fun.
Did you ever get the chance to read or watch Outlander? So good.
Have a Sparkling day

ReplyDeleteIt's a stitching Day with a few friends. Can't wIt for Christmas. So glad October is over! Snow in the Blue Mountains yesterday. I love in the foothills... say it ain't so! One more football ame to watch my Senior Grandson play. Longjohns will be on. Happy Fri-Yay.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I loving seeing what everyone is pulling from their stash and scrap bins, sometimes I just watch and see if another's colors inspires me, but since I just painted my bedroom that very same aqua I'm sure I'll go with your colors....but there is always a mystery #2 to make. Happy Sewing!
ReplyDeleteI sure wish I had saved DH’s many “dad-plaid” shirts … I never dreamed they could be used as quilting fabric. On the other hand, when I see some of the plaids used in quilts, I can’t help but think “did someone actually walk around wearing that ‘fugly’ shirt?” Lol!! Candy
