Easing Back In -

Progress is happening - but it is moving so slowly that I was a bit disheartened when I laid my completed units out...Didn't I have more than this already?

Maybe this will just be a table runner and I'll call it done! LOL!

Who am I kidding....It's the perfect travel project, and since I NEED to have a travel project, I'll just keep plugging away on it until who knows...maybe lap size? We shall see.

I'm looking at the units at the far left - those are the ones getting aqua around the outside.  The smaller units on the right are the fill-ins and still need a few more neutral hexies added...I was working by memory and when I laid them in there, they were a few hexies short of a unit.

Another reason for the laying things out - My travel documents arrived while I was away for my quilty upcoming trip to England! I've got a group of 28 on this trip, and I am so excited to be visiting England during the holiday lead up.

I need something to jump start me into feeling festive. Since the hurricane and Dave's injuries due to being hit by a falling tree...every day has just been a day to get through. The last 6 weeks have truly been a blur.

Craftours sent this cute festive back pack and a luggage handle to identify our suitcases, and I'm ready to go.

Speaking of that - did you know we are headed to Iceland in June? I would love to have you join me.  And yes, spouses, friends, siblings, adult children are welcome.  No, they do not need to be a quilter!

We've added France and the quilt show in September of 2025, Germany/Austria Christmas Markets in December of 2025, Morocco in January 2026, Romania in June 2026, and India in September 2026.  It's a great line up and I am looking forward to all of these.

All my tours are found HERE You can also click the ALL MY TOURS tab at the top of the blog.

So travel project? I'm going to stop counting blocks/units and just keep sewing!

Speaking of projects -

Anytime I leave on a trip, I know I am going to come back to the start (and maybe even a finish) of something from Hubster Dave's list of wanna-dos.

In this case...he dug out a bunch of flagstone type rocks and is laying more pavers...this is where our big trash cans go.  For years they have not been sitting level, and this will be so nice.

But it didn't just stop there.

The previous owners had an area below the back porch steps that was filled in with gravel for drainage..That has all been pulled out and more pavers are being added so that folks have less of "loose ground" to step down upon.

It really makes a nice edge between the lawn and the steps and also solves the problem of weeds growing up against the steps.

Captain Fantastic rids again!

First night home with feet up.  Did quilting get started again? Nope.  Who can hand quilt with this girl as close as she could get - and upside down no less?

No, I just snuggled in and enjoyed the feeling of being home.

Yesterday's catch up day was not terribly exciting.  But I can say that mail order was the main focus, while laundry ran at the retreat in the background.

Today my to-do list includes getting Moonflower ready to release tomorrow!

It feels like everything is coming down the pike in rapid-fire fashion -

Our Old Town mystery Part One posts one week from TOMORROW!  Egad!

And I still need to knock out the kits for my England group, and get the pattern written and sent off to my Australia group.

It will all come to pass, one thing at a time...and there is time to do it.

That red/neutral holiday quilt I have been planning and started on? It may wait a few more days (or weeks) before I can truly get back to it, but it's there waiting for me.

So, hello Thursday - what's up on deck for you today?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Life over 60 - thinking that extended warranties should apply to people too.

Have a terrific THursday, everyone!

I have a 3/4” hexie project that has been in the works for many many years and am now noting that after stitching on it, arthritis is flaring in my hands. Enjoy your stitching while you can.🤨

  4. Hi Bonnie! I am absolutely loving the layout of your current hexie project!!! You have inspired me to start a similar project. My center flowers will be made out of jewel shaped papers and fussy cut so they'll have a kaleidoscope effect. As soon as I saw yours with the teal blue surround, I was blown away. I ordered papers, both hexie and jewel shaped. A word of advice to people ordering different shaped paper pieces to be used in the same quilt. Order all your shapes from the same vendor. That way you'll have the best chance your 1 inch hexies will be the same 1 inch as your jewel shapes. I just made that mistake and found my hexies to be 1/32 inch larger than the jewels. Not much, but I like my stuff to lay flat. Easing in that extra 1/32 inch all the way around the flower will make it puff up. The pack of 600 slightly larger hexies will be used in a hexie only project - eventually.

  7. Happy Thursday. The week is almost over. I made a fewxmore Indigo Way blocks. My time is shorter to get a flimsy. No worries. Putting it on the Wall later to check how many more blocks for my version. All my Quilty friends loved them yesterday at our Sew-in. Wish is was one of those 28 going to England, sigh!!

  9. I saw that one of your Craftours is to Alsace and the European Patchwork Festival there next fall. I made this trip pre-pandemic and it was a wonderful. I highly recommend it. Of course, since I dragged my husband through the show for 2 days, my payback was to go to 2 automobile museums in the area. Did you know that Peugeot made irons and sewing machines in the early 1900s.
