Quilting Through The Weekend!

It was a little blustery, but we got it done -

Bundle up girls, it's cold outside!

We started out retreat with the B.A.D (Bound and Determined!) Quilters in relatively warm weather for February - including a 9 person hike  - record numbers of willing participants, really - With temps in the low 50s.

From there it all went south!

Yesterday morning it was 17 degrees.  It finally reached 40 by mid afternoon, which was better than Saturday which only climbed to 30 at best.

I'm hoping this means we are on an uphill swing and will see warmer temps  - my daffodils are shaking beneath the surface!

Breezy action shots!

Red, white & Blue Jared Takes a Wife from the Free Patterns tab starts us off at the left, followed by Punkin Patch from String Frenzy. Carolina Christmas is next in line - an earlier Quiltville Winter mystery now found in my book Scraps & Shirttails II

I can't remember the name of Jana's beautiful rainbow quilt - if you know the pattern, please leave it in the comments section below.

Frolic, Playing With Jacks (Free Patterns tab)Lazy Sunday from MORE Adventures With Leaders & Enders and a fun nine patch in progress.

Oh that wind!

Grassy Creek  ,a beautiful medallion in yellows and golds, and Pfeffernusse from String Fling.

And there were still fun things happening on design walls!

Not sure who designed the turtles, but they are so cute.  And that's a Carolina Christmas underway on the right.

Another Yellow Brick Road baby quilt pieced, quilted and bound!

Such a great pattern for baby quilts!

Filling the design wall with a batik strippy!

Foyer design floor layout!

Sandcastles from String Frenzy, nearly a completed top!

More adorable Punkin Patch also from String Frenzy on this wall!

A marvelous time was had by all -

Thank heavens no snow! LOL!

You just know these ladies are fun to be around!

They are packing up and heading home this morning and we've got a beautiful sunny day for them to quilt shop hop their way.

  1. Every time I see a Frolic quilt I'm amazed at the appearance of the curves! There was a nice variety of Bonnie quilts in this group. Today I hope to finish piecing a top I've had as L/E for 2 or 3 years. It's taxing my on-point skills for sure.

I love the turtles very much. This is fine for a baby quilt, too.
