Lincolnton Guild Girls - In The House!

Sometimes you just have to say "Hold That Pose!" and grab your own camera to get a shot of what it looks like from your own point of view - when they are all holding up cameras and taking photos of you!

Or me!

The Lincolnton NC gals are in the house and quilting up a storm.

This is from yesterday's little side visit when I brought my finished pineapple quilt top over for a bit of show and share.

What were they taking a photo of?

Tada! It's together!

But before I could share it - this had to happen.

Click to play:

Sew faster, Bonnie!

I found a piece of yardage big enough to do the backing - I didn't need to go scrappy.

One seam and done.  WINNING!

I was then feeling so productive that I tackled the pile of batting margins - it only took 3 long pieces to make a batting big enough as this quilt is only about 60'' square.  Which is small for me.  I KNOW!

But when the quilt tells you it's done - it's done.

The Rocketeer came out to do this job -

I overlap the edges by only 1/8''. That way the threads can really catch and not leave gaping holes. The zig-zag stitching mashes the batting so you do not feel ridges inside the quilt.

Being able to use this pieces makes me happy!

Meanwhile next door - the quilters are busy getting quilty!

Oh so pretty!

Loads of production happening here!

This is going to be gorgeous!

These colors - all the love!

This Rhododendron Trail is getting a different setting!

An intensive design wall project -

Each leaf connects to another - gorgeous!

My daffies are coming up!  Look at this!

This definitely makes me happy!

Grow little babies, grow!

There was even time for 3 of us to take a hike up Bear Branch road and back - 2 miles of steps and back to sewing we went.

There is also this little announcement:

Exciting things happening at the Quilters Hall of Fame in Marion, Indiana this year! ⁣
My quilts are being featured in an exhibit entitled 'Got Scraps?''
With the subtitle of 'The Creative and Visionary Journey of Bonnie Hunter.'

How about that! I am so excited and I'm getting my quilts ready to head over.
The exhibit runs May 7 to July 27, 2024.⁣
Contact the Quilter's Hall of Fame for more information!⁣

LAST DAY!

Winter Cardinal and Indigo Way PDF pattern booklets are 25% off through tomorrow, Friday 2/23/24 in the Quiltville Store. No coupon needed - hurry now and save!

Jennifer shared her first few blocks in our Quiltville’s Open Studio group on Facebook!  Well done!

It's so fun to see my designs in other people's fabrics.  It's marvelous!

Today - quilting the pineapple quilt, and a visit to the chiropractor this afternoon.  The weather is taking a turn - loads of rain last night, and I think it's getting worse from here on out so I'll come back from my appointment and we'll attempt to do the Over the Porch Rail photos.

Another day in the studio - my happy place.  It doesn't get much better than this.

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Sometimes, if something isn't working all we need to do is change our approach.
Vintage Crazy Anne quilt found in West Jefferson NC.
I love all the oops blocks in this one!

Have a fantastic Friday -

  2. Congratulations, Bonnie! What an honor to be in the Quilters Hall of Fame in Marion, Indiana--wish I was closer so I could attend.
Your 'Rocketeer' looks just like my Mom's sewing machine that I inherited recently. I'm in the process of cleaning up 'Miss Mae' so I can sew with her.

One thing my Rocketeer does best is zig zag things together.
