Rocky Road to Grayson PDF Pattern! (Gift-Away!)

Good morning Quiltvillians!

I know this post is a little later than normal, but we are going to ignore the computer issues that plagued me this morning and dive right on in!

It's all good - because today I am releasing the printable PDF pattern for Rocky Road to Grayson - a delightful mix of string piecing combined with sashing, stars and nine-patches!

August and September are just perfect for Sunflower Yellow!

All the scrappy bits!

I pre-pieced these on triangles cut from phone book paper.

You watched as I made these triangles from the smallest of scraps!  And the PDF pattern for Rocky Road to Grayson contains not just ONE method for making the blocks, but THREE - so you can choose which method works the best for you, whether you are working from small saved pieces, or are hankering to speedily strip sew.

I chose scrappy vintage looking yellow prints for my backgrounds -

But you can use ANY color you wish. You don't even have to go scrappy here - choose one piece of yardage in a color or neutral that make your colored scraps shine!

This quilt was so much fun to make!

I used the Creative Grids 45 degree ruler to trim my string pieced units.

I printed my block quarter templates on Carol Doak’s Foundation Paper.

Are you excited to dive in??

The printable PDF pattern for Rocky Road to Grayson is available in the digital pattern section of the Quiltville Store.  The introductory price is already marked 25% off - no coupon code required!

To sweeten this deal, let's have a Gift-Away!

And yes, there are other colors available (neutrals too!) so go give them a look-see.  I love the variety they provide.

I am giving away FIVE patterns for Gail Mayhue's  Busy As A Boss tote INCLUDING the buckle closures!  Today we are drawing for winner number 4!

Who is entry 631 out of 5697?

Patricia Farwell! Congrats!

And there is ONE MORE pattern to give away!  Entries are still open until tomorrow morning, 8/18/2021 so get those entries in ON THAT POST.

And yes, you can snatch this pattern up in Gail's eBay Store!

Last night's stitching -

I finished the binding on the Wrong Way Round quilt - all that is left now is the hanging sleeve and label.  Which frees me up to load that recently un-quilted monstrosity back onto the longarm.

Not sure I want to do it!  Maybe I'll take this rainy day to do some piecing with some binging of something on Netflix??

How is your Tuesday shaping up for you?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Tell them you love them. Let them know how much they are appreciated.

AND - Thank you ALL for being here through everything!

I appreciate you!

  8. Thank You Bonnie, for EVERYTHING You do! Cotton to quilts does have a great assortment of colorful rolls, and neutrals. That sunny Yellow bundle may just be another one I will have to buy.

No sun here today, wet and damp after raining all night. But, luckily it isn't raining now.

  11. How fun to give away a pattern for the winner and a friend. My Quilt Buddy has an antique version of this quilt. We would love to remake it with your pattern. I've never WON on your giveaways. I think it's my turn.
