Hi everyone!
I made it home from Iowa late last night, and good thing for me that i wrote this blog post a bit ahead so it was ready to post this morning!
I’m trhilled to be asked to participate in the Kick Off of Barbara Cline’s new book, Amazingly Simple Triangle Stars!
I love following Barbara and seeing what she is up to with needle and thread. Her design ideas are not only knock-out fabulous, but fantastic results are made easy by her wonderful way of writing directions that even a beginner can understand.
I love how simply changing the fabrics and the value placement in her designs completely changes the quilts and makes so many options possible!
About this book:
Turn a single block into eight distinctive quilts―the magic is in the fabric! This triangle block is easy to sew, but can transform using countless intricate designs when you experiment with color and value. Stunning triangle-star quilts are perfect for adventurous beginners looking to try something new or intermediate quilters who'd like to put their skills to use in a creative way. Includes line drawings you can color in to create your own designs.
Beautiful in red!
Barbara asks: “Do you see the one triangle block in the Starry Lights quilt?” Look closely! This design is made with ONE triangle block unit!
WIth just this one block unit you can do many amazing things. Check this out:
Oh goodness!!
First I see boxes, then stars, then prettily wrapped packages!
The same quilt, in grey scale!
Where did the stars go?
Now I only see white stars on a rainbow!
No boxes!
Oh my goodess! Stars on a zig zag!
Barbara, how do you do this?
How about this for a table topper?
Or a holiday table runner?
It’s all in here!

Quiltville Quote of the Day!
It's the old "I think I can, I think I can, I KNOW I can!" And if you are telling yourself you CAN'T -- you need to knock those thoughts out of your head and find a way. It might be a different route, at a different pace, but you CAN get there!
Have a great Tuesday, everyone!
Glad you had a welcome home committee and a saf trip and arrival. Donna Fisher.
ReplyDeleteThis book looks interesting. Any design that looks hard but sews easy is worth investigating. Bye, may 1st is Sunday; is the drawing Saturday or Sunday? I guess it doesn't really matter as I am entered either way! Welcome home, Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteHi, Bonnie. This is an amazing concept. So interesting the difference the fabric makes. Glad you made it home on your three legged flights
ReplyDeleteSee you on May 10 on Makinac.
Christine from Ontario
My goodness, such amazing designs... and all from just ONE block? Thanks for participating in the blog hop, Bonnie. And welcome home!

Christine - i am going to Mackinac as well. Can't wait! But our guild has its annual camp starting Thursday through the weekend. I've only missed 2 in 18 years! One when my husband was undergoing a bone marrow transplant (2000) (he's fine noe) and last year when I went ti Italy with Bonnie! I'm happy that I can do both this year. But it means gathering things - projects and clothes - for both this week. And because I am 5 weeks post-op with a knee replacement I still have t squeeze in PT sessions.
ReplyDeleteLove the triangle book - hope I win ! Ha! I have the same chance whether or not I enter. :)
