Sew Long, Farewell!

I tend to call the Wednesday to Sunday retreats as Quickie Retreats.

They are long enough to have some fun, but not long enough to spend enough time with a group while they are here.

Before we even turn around, it seems like its time to pack up and head home.

Back to jobs, family, grandkids, life!

I am so grateful for the time we did get to spend together making some fun memories through the weekend, and the Lincoln Quilt Guild ladies from Lincolnton, North Carolina have got some great quilt tops to show for it!

Boy was that sun shining brightly on Saturday afternoon!

On the left is a framed sunflower panel, just the right size for couch snuggling, and a County Clare quilt fit for a bed!

Two lovely tops just waiting for quilting!

On the left is Double Rings with its borders added, and I'm not sure of the pattern name for the medallion.  If you know, please put it in the comments below.  So bright and fun!

Tops, tops and more tops!

Thanks for a marvelous retreat, ladies!

It was great to have you here!

In the cushion binding department, I present:

Two More Finishes!

Three of these blocks were in my Addicted to Scraps column - and yes, I had to make one more X0Plus block because I had sewn up all of the other extras in the backing of my Sunnyside quilt!

There were already four of these - so making this cushion cover was simple.

Wild floral backing!

I'm not sure where this big floral came from, but I love the colors in it and it went with a few of the cushion covers so it got used. It would have been gorgeous for a whole quilt backing if there were yards and yards. I'm happy with it here.

Also :  For the split backings, you really need to plan on about a 4'' overlap so that the backing pieces don't gap when you put in the pillow form.  Trust me.  It makes all the difference in the world.

I've got one left to go!

After taking care of all of the towel baskets and recovering the pressing stations and more...I think the only thing I have left to do is empty the dishwasher at the retreat and things will be ready for Susan to work her cleaning magic.

The March Quiltvillians arrive tomorrow!

I used my afternoon time to paper piece some more units for my current project.  All of those small saved pieces - they are finding their way to gone.

All the little strips to short to really be strips.

All of the saved cut-off corners from other projects.

And a lot of this!

My friend Joy sent me a box of strings and chunks rom Alaska and I am having the best time combining her scraps with mine.

It's a scrapmania of color!

Today though - I need to set it all aside for a day at my desk.  It's a new month, stuff has to be taken care of.  Sewing will wait until that's done.

In the meantime - did you know there are just a few days left to sign up and join me?

Are you dreaming of coming with me to Romania in June? June is stated to be the most beautiful month to visit. I can't wait.

We are into the last days of signups and registration will be closing soon.

We still have some spots available, and I was told that the cut off date for those who wish to join me is March 6th - so hurry! Get your reservation in NOW!

Of course, our whole trip isn't solely about quilting - we will be hitting all of the fabulous spots Romania has to offer. Hubbies, Partners, Adult Children, Siblings, Friends are all welcome. You don't have to be a quilter to enjoy this trip!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Things are uncertain and tough for everyone out there.

From your postal worker to the clerk at the grocery store to the server at the restaurant and more.

Watch what happens when you show appreciation in everyday situations.

The feel good will come back and rub off on you in return.

Spread it around!

Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!
