We've had a full weekend of cutting, stitching, pressing and more!
The retreat time really does fly by fast when you are hanging out with your besties and dreaming up new projects you want to make after seeing the beautiful blocks on design walls.
Some went and visited quilt shops on Saturday afternoon, some stayed in and sewed all day -
Every time I go over here this quilt is folded up and I don't want to disturb it as it is folded so neatly - but this afternoon is "over the porch rail" photos so we'll get to see it then!
This looks fun!
Jared Takes a Wife blocks from the Free Patterns tab
Wild Child blocks from String Fling! I'm loving this with the alternating grey and white backgrounds!
Jack's Chain is still making progress! All those inset Y seams!
There is some On Ringo Lake setting happening here!
It was cold Saturday - too cold. But things started warming up again yesterday and a group of us headed out to explore down by the river.
We decided to go further than our one-mile-turn-around and headed further up to the top of the hil where the old McMillan cemetery is just to enjoy the panoramic view.
Today, maybe a trip up to the ponies? We will see how folks are feeling after yesterday's big uphill hike to the cemetery.
I spent my free time making more of these!
For those asking, the whole block is paper-pieced. You don't have to make the geese separate from the strings or the strings separate from the geese. It's sewn on one foundation.
Trimmed and de-papered!
Just a handful plus left to make and I can get these borders on.
I'm still thinking this needs to be a quilt all its own, so I may just keep on going when this one is done and keep sewing up the small scraps.
I hope you aren't tired of seeing these...there are going to be more!
Hazel's Caturday pose - such a diva!
Introductory Pricing: The PDF pattern for Brookgreen is currently 25% off in the Quiltville Store, no coupon needed! Price good through TOMORROW 3/31/26.
Simple shapes and easy piecing create a stunning repeat of pattern and secondary designs, inspired by photo taken of vintage tile floors white traveling.
Full color photos, Optional piecing methods, and directions to press for success!
I can't wait to see what you do with your own version, be it in these colors, or perhaps a color theme of your own choosing!
Brookgreen finishes at 80'' X 80'' but is easily customized by making fewer blocks for a smaller quilt, or more blocks for a bigger one.
Just in case anyone needs to hear this, I'm posting it here.
I'm moving slowly out of the starting gate today, and it's okay if you do too!
Happy Monday, everyone!

Oh, please do make that a whole quilt! As I was looking at your layout I thought just that then read you were thinking it also! It's really very cool!
ReplyDeleteI never tire of seeing the furbabies. And I'm so glad to see that Zoey if doing better. Hazel is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the over the porch photos...
