From Wednesday To Now!

This was Wednesday's beautiful preview of summer (in MARCH!) as we reached 82 degrees.

Crazy, right?

Grass is green, daffodils are blooming in the background - the peeper frogs down by the creek were singing their spring song. All was well.

Until night time blew in and we went from Fake Spring to Fake Summer and then back to below freezing in the course of the night.

Thursday norning.

Sleet and snow!

I had Hubster Dave take me over to the inn and drop me off. He'd come get me later in the afternoon since we didn't know what was going to be happening with the roads. That's the ice building up on the hood of the car, so you know it was on the roads as well.

And the day before it was 82???

Welcome to spring in Virginia where you can experience all four seasons in the span of 24 hours.

Thursday was also a desk day for me, getting everything ready to release Brookgreen for yesterday's Gift-Away.  Did you get your entry in? More on that further down the post.

But halleluiah - there was enough time to finish this batch and do some de-papering.

And I'm ready for some block assembly.

There are a LOT of seams to pin-match.  So I'm taking it slow and just going with it, one pin at a time.

Meanwhile, Hazel is staying warm inside the QPO and keeping watch over my strips on the long arm.

Or keeping watch over the comings and goings of folks driving by -

Or keeping watch over the back of her eye lids.

And no, I simply cannot resist her curly belly fur!

I caught this photo last evening at home while eating dinner....zoomed in to see Lola checking out Tula who was simply loafing on the living room floor.
After a minute of Lola watching intently, she gave a hiss and ran back downstairs.
There has been no fighting - just a lot of hissing and running away.
I don't know if this means we are getting anywhere, but doors are being left open when we are home and we only close them to prevent cat fights while we are gone.
So what will this weekend bring?  More sewing.  I've reached a bit more than half-way on these little Gretchen blocks and I'm starting to think about what I'd like to do for the borders to spice things up a bit all while continuing to use the small scraps that don't seem to be going down at all.
We are back up to 62 today so I am hoping for a long leisurely walk this afternoon.
