How do you start the day out right on a summer Quilt Retreat?
Get a good night's sleep (with many quilty dreams!) and start the morning with some fresh air on a long walk down a country dirt road!
I grabbed 6 of the Tada Quilters for a jaunt down Bear Branch road -
And if there WERE any bears about, we surely scared them off by all of the talking and laughter we had along the way!

Whooowhoooo!
From where we parked - we simply walked 1 mile in, turned around and came back.
Some locals thought WE were the curious ones!
I think we scared them off too!
I still see you back there!
It's just a little narrow road -
barely wide enough for one car.
Burbling streams on both sides!
Check out the finished and newly quilted Xing quilt from String Frenzy!
All of those fun crumb stars and string blocks!
There is much trimming and binding to happen next.
Jill has her Xing in progress up on the design wall.
We've also got some Sand Castles quilts from String Frenzy going on!
Love love love it!
And it isn't all quilting all the time as you know:
Salad bar for miles!
As for me - there is still much evening time spent picking out quilting.
UGH!
I would say I am nearing half way - and I have just stopped sweating and swearing about it - and while we watch some evening TV - just do what I can. I think it's harder in the evenings, my eyes get so tired.
(New glasses soon!)
And of course - you know who wants me to pay attention to her rather than the unstitching at hand!
This morning she didn't know what to do with herself -
Where is the furniture?!?!
Our renter is moving out of the Wallburg house September 1st. It's time to really get that house ready to put on the market.
And The hubster has decided that we need our two reclining love seats up here from that house - and that the couch and chair from here can stage the house while it is on the market.
So last night before bed (And after tv and unstitching time) we loaded the couch and chair into the trailer and he is hauling them down today to switch them out.
Poor Zoey just wandered around this morning not knowing what to do about it! LOL!
So here we are and it just dawned on me that it is Friday the THIRTEENTH!
The number 13 never scared me - and to make this day a good one, we've got some great prizes to draw for. Let's get with it!
I am drawing for our FIRST winner (of FIVE!) to receive a Busy As A Boss Tote pattern designed by Gail Mayhue!
Check out all of the nitty gritty on this can't live without busy bag on the original post HERE.
And yes, you can snatch this pattern up in Gail's eBay Store!
Today's winner is:
Folks, entries are still open on this gift-away and I will be drawing one winner per day until I draw our last winner on Wednesday!

And it's time to draw for THIS:

It's going to be a fabulous weekend!
I've got my ticket, and I can't wait for all of this quilty goodness to happen from the comfort of my own chair.
Lookie Lookie Lookie!
The July 2021 Quilty Box is still up for grabs!
And I have been drooling over Victoria Findlay Wolfe's new fabric line, Astrid, since she first started sharing snippets and peeks through social media.
It's GORGEOUS! And not just fat-quarters in this box - but my FAVORITE - LONG 1/3 yards! 12'' x 40'' perfect for those of us who love to cut strips and want them long.
I will be drawing for this beautiful box on Monday August 16th, 2021. There is still time to get your entry in ON THAT POST.
And I think that catches us up to now.
It's haircut day for me. And I missed my appointment last time - totally spaced it - because it was supposed to be the Friday of the 4th of July weekend and....it just escaped me.
So, it's now been 12 weeks since my last hair cut and I am in dire need.
I'll be back early afternoon to catch back up with the Tada Quilters at Quiltville Inn.
I have a binding to put on the small quilt I shared in Yesterday's Post. (NO pattern yet - the quilt is not done.) and then I'll have some portable hand stitching to do while enjoying the back porch with the retreaters over the weekend.
How are things shaping up for your weekend ahead?
I love this quote by Georgia O'Keeffe!
I can so relate, can you?
If only our quilts could talk!
Have a wonderful Friday - the 13th or not!
I was married 31 years ago to the love of my life, on Friday the 13th (July). Every time the 13th falls on a Friday we celebrate. So it's date night tonight!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! My dad was born on Friday the 13th, so it has always been a good day for our family! Good luck in prepping and selling the house! I am sure you have more stuff you have to go through.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia O'Keefe along with my Grandma Primrose are the ones who got me interested in quilting. Plus several others. Somehow a quilt days I love you in the best way.
ReplyDeleteIs that a Dancing Nine Patch?
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe it is Dancing Nine Patch from the free patterns tab. That one should be called Happy Dancing Nine Patch!
DeleteIt is! I made one quite a few years ago. I had participated in a 9-patch swap, and the pattern was great for showing off everyone’s pretty blocks.
ReplyDeleteGetting ready for Grandma Quilt Camp next week. Haven't had the girls here since 2019. Lots of totes to move sio they can choose fabrics. Congrats to the winners.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners!
ReplyDeleteMy husband was born on the 13th and we were married on Friday the 13th! He considers the 13th his lucky day!!
ReplyDeleteYou should take your quilt to the inn. I bet some of the ladies would love to help you unpick it. Then they can always say, they helped Bonnie Hunter finish that quilt!
