I am so excited about the NEW BlockBase+ I can hardly contain myself.
I have been an EQ user from the very first release. I own the previous version of BlockBase, running it with my different EQ versions all the way up through EQ7.
I love that there is a new, updated version to go along with my EQ8 software.
My favorite thing? Pairing two blocks together to see what other interesting secondary designs happen between the blocks. It’s magic!
The only thing better than the NEW Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns book – is the ability to have those blocks in BlockBase+, to go with my EQ8!
Now for the fun part - Electric Quilt is GIVING AWAY a free Block Base Plus for one lucky person who enters on today's blog post! It could be you!
New stand-alone software!
From the pages of Barbara Brackman’s Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns book, BlockBase+ brings over 4,000 quilt blocks to your computer screen. Barbara’s decades of research is available to you in this organized and user-friendly software for Windows and Mac computers. Packed with complete publication information for each block, robust search features, exporting and printing capabilities — it’s the perfect quilting tool for all skill levels! The same patterns that sold for 15¢ in 1928 are now yours for less than 3¢ each!
This software is a perfect companion to the Encyclopedia book!
(BlockBase+ is a stand-alone software for Windows and Mac operating systems. EQ software not required.)
I love the easy to read, easy to search and find format!
I was able to quickly download my software directly from Electric Quilt and get to playing!
So many helpful tips and tricks!
The BlockBase+ software will allow you to find the block you wish, print regular templates, paper piecing foundation templates - all in the size you choose your block to be.
You can export your block files, even preview your blocks in 7 pre-designed quilt layouts so you'll have a good idea of how your quilt will look before you even begin to cut fabric.
Would you like to win BlockBase+ for yourself? Either as a stand-alone program, or to use as an add-on to your EQ8?

For those who have been reading my IG Quiltfest entries posted here on the blog, you can catch Saturday's prompt HERE and Sunday's entry HERE. I think we've got enough going on today without making this post any longer!
Some sewing did happen over the weekend. I need just 7 more blocks and I can start making the sashing I've envisioned for my Rocky Road to Kansas inspired quilt.
I'm excited to get this one together - it's a 10 year old UFO that needed to wait this long for me to get back to it, and actually like where it is going. I know we all have projects like that!
How was your weekend? Did you get any quilting done?

ReplyDeleteThank you Bonnie for all that you do and have become over the years! Thank you EQ also! I have used your wonderful product since version 3 and purchased the orig Block Base. Would love the newest update!
ReplyDeleteI was just looking for a different quilt pattern and if I had this, I could make my own and tweak it my way.
ReplyDeleteLove your tulip time quilt pattern. It will be awhile before I can order it. It's on my to do list.
ReplyDeleteSuper excited! Thank you for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI spent Saturday working on Winter Blues. All the subcuts for Bock Bs B1 strip sets have been made. And when all were counted up, I scratched my head and wondered what I did to miscalculate the math and end up with nearly 50 extra subcuts!
ReplyDeleteDon't think the Block program will load on my Chromebook. Lol
ReplyDeleteNice to see things progressing for you. Love the blocks coming together. I entered the drawing. I miss my blocks program and really would love to have a new one.
ReplyDeleteThat does sound very exciting! I am always "programming" quilts in my head. Sometimes they come out the way I would like! HAHA.... Loved the quote as well. The mistakes happen for a reason. Over the weekend I started my neice's quilt, a Harry Potter Shadowbox. I also jumped in on the Tulip wagon. THey are sew cute and it won't be long before I have a garden!! Have a wonderful evening!!
ReplyDeleteI already bought BlockBase and started playing with it. Very easy to get started! And to play with in EQ8. I just wish I knew how many blocks are replicated in EQ8? Anyone know?
ReplyDeleteI think I love reading the history of the blocks as much as seeing all the great varieties. Thank you for the depth and warmth you bring to the quilting world.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great prize Bonnie!!! Thanks for the opportunity to win.
