It’s a lazy Sunday afternoon here. DH is tired of working on taxes ((I am so grateful for an accountant DH who takes are of all this stuff!)) and we are headed out to go see “This Means War” which looks really funny.
We’ve seen the preview a couple of times and it’s out now – so we are going! Bring on the popcorn! Oh, and I love my coke zero with 3/4 coke zero, and just top the last 1/4 off with some cherry coke please – YUM!
I finished the sampler blocks from over at Randy’s Blog. I’m all caught up! Here is a shot of my messy sort of design wall. It’s a very small area, and I know I’ll outgrow it but they look really fun up there!
I was asked where my love of cheddar and orange came from. I honestly don’t know. My love of Pennsylvania Dutch quilts from around 1870 started in the early 1990s ((Isn’t it terrible when someone says “the 90s” and you think it’s only 10 years ago or so?!)) It was my affirmation that yes, I could put orange next to pink, next to red and poison green and throw in some Prussian blue and chrome yellow and all would be well! And “true” cheddar to me was always shown best as a solid, not a print ---so I keep those in two different categories, one is cheddar, the other is NOT in my book ;c)
It’s definitely BOLD! and BRIGHT! And – yeah, very CHEDDAR!
As to the freebie book….This one looks really good:

Whatever you get up to this afternoon, enjoy it!
You mean it hasn't been 10 years since the 90's? :)
ReplyDeleteI see the fabric I sent for your birthday in your Basket Block. I goes well with the Cheddar. Thanks for clarifying that real Cheddar is solid colored. Having fun with your SOW- along!
ReplyDeleteYou know, they make a cherry come zero. Although, sometimes I need the sugar rush. ;) I like how the cheddar gives the quilt an antique feeling.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds SO much better than what I've been reading on my Kindle. Just clicked over to order it -- thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I just bought a 1993 van. I figured out that it is really 19 years old. How can that be?
ReplyDeleteSaw that movie with my husband, my sister, and her husband when it first opened. Hi-LAR-ious! Laughed until we shook. Plus, plenty of eye candy!
ReplyDeletethanks for the free book I downloaded it and will have it to read on the plane next week!
ReplyDeleteLove the cheddar wish I was brave enough to try it :)
You are so making me wish that I had a Kindle, but I AM a dummy and wouldn't know which one to buy. These books really sound interesting.
ReplyDeleteLove the blocks! Thanks for tip @ book. I downloaded it & read it... Just right for a lazy afternoon. I'm a bit sensitive, so i skimmed a couple passages. Thanks for your blog & books... Plus, i enjoyed your talk @ K'ville quild awhile back. Happy stitching! B
ReplyDeleteThat cheddar looks a lot like CLemson Orange to me.....don't cha think??
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was searching for cheddar to do the bowties I found three different colors... all called cheddar by the different shop owners! I did a blog about it and decided the difference was if you wanted buttery, mild or sharp cheese! LOL
I like that interpretation. Buttery, Mild or Sharp. ;o)
DeleteBonnie, I'd love to know what you think of the ending of this book!! I downloaded it as soon as I read about it, and read it last night! Really good book - but I'd still like to know what you thought of the ending - if you have time to write.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I have a favor to ask. You are always recommending books for your ereader, but you never tell us if you actually liked the book. I have such a limited time for reading I would love a little feedback to know if it was a snooze or worth the effort, free or not!
ReplyDeleteI haven't started downloading books yet but I am interested in what you thought about the books.
ReplyDeleteI like your bom. I need to get my poop together so one day I can do a bom. and not be a S_L_A_C_K_E_R. ;o)
