Each time I come here something has changed!!
They moved the fat quarter table. But you can still get grits and cornmeal with your fabric!
Pati and I are having a great time/--just hit the Chinese buffet for lunch and now are off to discover a new to us antique place!

I LOVE grits...with a little butter.
ReplyDeleteHave fun shopping...you're SO much fun to shop with!
I tell my kids when they get to Heaven to look for me at the quilt shop. Your friends shopping with you get as close to Heaven on earth as it gets...ah, fabric AND Bonnie...sweet.~
ReplyDeleteLucy~
Great collection of b/w in that store.
ReplyDeleteI usually only stop on my way to Dad's and am on a bee line to get what I am after...how fun to be able to spend most of a day checking things out down there.
ReplyDeleteI've been to Mary Jo's once, now I want to go back! Wish I was there!
ReplyDeletewhere is this???? think i need to add this to my "if i am ever in the area, i NEED to go to this shop" list.

I'm jealous! I love Mary Jo's but don't get there that often. Have a fun day
ReplyDeleteYes where is this wonderful place???
ReplyDeleteLove Mary Jo's...might stop on my way to/from Williamsburg in August
ReplyDeleteFor those that don't know, Mary Jo's Cloth Store is in Gastonia, NC, just south of Charlotte on I-85!
Ilive in Charlotte, haven't been to MJ's for a while..don't you just love that adrenaline surge you get when you first walk in?? Need to get over and see what's new...Haven't tried the buffet, where is it? We usually go to Jackson's cafeteria..right up the road near Hobby Lobby..
ReplyDeleteOK, that is mean! LOLOLOL - I can't get to MJ's often enough. BUT honestly, have fun and buy until you are broke --- no money, no credit whatever!
ReplyDeleteAnyone planning a visit to the USA, first stop ----- Mary Jo's!!!!! You will thank me :)

Can't believe that long row of black/white prints. That and the grits are two things I've never seen in my LQS! : )
ReplyDeleteI love Mary Jo's. Can't wait to visit again and counting down the days till you are here.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Mary Jo's for a couple of years - makes me want to go on a road trip. The grits sound good. I haven't seen that brand around here.
ReplyDeleteGrits are Groats in Britain. See here.

Not a common things to eat here though.
Makes me want to reach right in there and touch those b/w fabrics! Never been to Mary Jo's.
ReplyDeleteHaha! "Hey, be right back, I just gotta run out for some grits!" Great for the stealthy fabric shopper!
ReplyDeleteI just visited MJ's a few weeks ago - up from Florida. They had moved everything!! Of course, I still found a bag to come home with me :).
ReplyDeleteWhile completely unrelated (sorry), I soo had to think of you when somehow I came across this picture: Cheddar dress! Who would have thought it a fashion statement - little did I know...

I'm going through Mary Jo's withdrawal!!!
ReplyDeleteI have GOT to get myself to that store!!!! Road Trip!!!! lol
ReplyDeleteIf you are at MaryJo's in Gastonia, NC - I'm drooling! Lived there for ten years and moving from there it was the worst thing about moving. I go to the website and just do the virtual tour to make myself more happy and order once in a while just to "keep" it fresh in my mind. So many happy memories there of shopping with friend and my little grandson who loved fabric and the button box on the counter where the patterns were. Is it still there???? If so, please let me know you guys. BT (A Mary Jo Supporter Forever!)
ReplyDeleteLove MJ's and a best friend lives 1.5 blocks from the Cloth Store. Wish I was there.
ReplyDeleteI moved here two years ago and was NOT happy. Then I walked in to Mary Jo's and I called my husband and said, "Now I know why I was meant to move here."
