Quiltmania Came!

Weeeeeeee! I was so excited to see a large mailing envelope from France in my mail box this afternoon!

I was not expecting a 5 page spread with full page photos in this issue. I'm not sure what all I was expecting as I can hardly remember the interview, I was so jet lagged and tired and had only arrived to Lucy's house a couple hours before the people from Quiltmania were knocking on Lucy's door.

It was a real treat to meet Carol, the editor, and I wish I could remember the name of the photographer that came with her. He was AMAZING. He could group things together so quickly and take the best pictures. Lucy is very much into photography, so I know she was watching him closely to see what he was doing with all his camera equipment.

Funny story.....My shampoo had leaked during the flight, as my toiletries bag was packed in my checked luggage due to "liquid" restrictions. I had showered at Lucy's to freshen up, but didn't notice that my COMB had shampoo on it! As my hair dried...I could feel that I didn't have all the soap washed out of my hair, or rather..I had combed soap back IN to my hair after getting out of the shower. I was too tired to care!

I love the pics of Lucy's house in her article. Her house is so darling and cozy and I just love being there. Fun to see good ole Joseph too, what a darling! Good memories of taking him with us on an afternoon off to go walk through the woods.

All this makes me want to plan another trip to the Netherlands as quick as I can! Lucy, I'm honored to be in the same issue with you, my friend!

  15. What a fabulous layout! Now I just have to find the mag, so I can have my very own copy!
PS - I'm ready for your visit to WA! Can't wait!!

  16. That was great. I will look for the magazine tomorrow at the book-shop.

I also like the new pic of you on the web page :-) Nice jacket too!

  20. Bonnie,
OK,I can't wait. I went to Borders and they had
Quiltmania 69, that was Friday. I got it after seeing
Lucy's blog. Then I see your blog and went to Borders
again. Still no Quiltmania 70. Thanks for showing
what I am missing. It looks like a delightful group of
    your quilts. I can't wait.

  21. Congratulations !
I'm French and a Quiltmania subscriber. What a great issue it is with you and Lucy featured in !

  22. Great Spread, you will have to share the magazine with us to see in person!

  23. I got a copy yesterday in WH Smith's here in the UK! Lovely to see you and Lucy in there. Great quilts pics too!
    Congratulations to you both!

  24. You look like a pro! The Churndash on the little dresser is wonderful!Besides that the photographer did a cool job taking the photo so that you could see the one in the mirrow also! Love the colors!
Maybe you will start a new trend... companys put the soap into the comb and then you comb through your hair just b/4 washing! Hmmmm, of course it would have to have used all the shampoo up before you were ready to style! Funny story... but you looked fine and you survived!

  25. Congrats! I got my copy yesterday and blogged about too...we're picture twins..I took almost identical pics!!

  26. WOW. Thank you for posting pix from the issue, like others, I'm still hunting for no.70.

  27. Congratulations. Love the quilt.

  28. Congrats!! That is awesome.

  29. I got my issue at my local book store on monday after checking for it everyday since last thursday ;o)) You both look great, that must have been a geat week. I have been able to show my friends, who don't have internet, the "girl who made the DD mystery quilt for us"!!
