All. Day. Long.
I spent the entire day making scrappy yellow backing blocks for the X-Plus quilt that likely by now needs a new name.
And I am here to let you know that YES! All of the blocks are made.
And I even combed through the rest of the hunks and chunks in that pin, deciding which just needed to be cut down into Scrap User's System sizes so I could use them more easily, and which I really didn't like enough to save, and simply cut them down into strings and added them to the string bin where they will also find a place.
It may be a while before I tackle a yellow string quilt - I'm feeling rather over it with the yellow for a bit, but that bin is now more than half-empty!
After all, that was the point of this exercise, wasn't it?
Pink Flamingos in bathing attire? In it goes! LOL!
Because this is a backing and I want to eliminate as much bulk as possible, I did press seams open where I could.
I love how everything looked trimmed to size.
I have some moving around of blocks to do, but this is where we are right now.
Today I'll start sewing it together.
I should be packing for Morocco, right? At some point?
Maybe I'll tackle that tomorrow.
Lola, however, knows how good she's got it!
And as she is 14+ years old, I'll take all of the lap sitting she wants.
She is the only one that routinely crawls up in my lap for loves any tie I sit anywhere, be it on the couch, or at my desk.
Tula doesn't like to be held, she still fights that. I have to wrap her in a towel burrito-style just to give her the meds she needs.
She'll take pets and scratches as long as all four feet are on the ground, but I still can't pick her up and have her accept me as safe.
I woke up to only 10 f degrees this morning.
It's bitter out there.
I'm so glad I've got sunny yellow to work on today.
I'll have to quit a bit early - chiropractor at 4pm in prep for long hours of flight time coming up.
But I'm getting excited!
What's up for your Friday and the weekend ahead?
Truth..... well, except for maybe that one fabric we did buy on a whim and don't understand what we were thinking in the first place?
Happy Friday, everyone!
Tula in her second "hidden" bed.
I'm not sure she is much better. The eye still looks REALLY bad. You can't really detect her iris or pupil at all. I'm so afraid for her.
I put this bed in the hidden corner she has taken to, just behind my monitor on the floor next to my fabric cabinets. If she feels safe here, I want her to have a comfy spot.
I know folks are asking about Flash. He is SUPER feral. I can't get any closer than 6 feet. He occasionally hisses, sometimes meows, but there is no turning him into anything else but a freeloader at this point.
He knows I am the food-bearer. And that's a bit it. But still, I try.
Whether he is "Missing his buddy" or not is not of my concern.
For all I know HE could be the one that bit Tula in the face and caused this mess.
He will likely never become domesticated or be worthy of anyone's concern other than that he is fed and I am doing the best I can for him no matter how ungrateful he is.
If you missed it!
