Fond Farewells and Catch Ups!

The past week has been a complete blur.

And yesterday - all I could do was little to nothing.  Do you have days like that?

I had ZERO energy.

The big weekend family-packed wonderfulness. The Richmond Express departure Monday morning and the scramble to get yesterday's Big String Quartet and Kiss Me, Kiwi! live in the Quiltville Store.

And the Gift-Away post up!

Jason's departure yesterday left my mama's heart feeling a bit sad and empty.

And about all I accomplished was my next task at hand - pulling all the quilts for my exhibit at the Quilter's Hall of Fame and getting all of the blurbs written to go with them.
Maybe it was kind of a recharge the depleted batteries kind of day.

And I needed it.

But these photos make me smile so much!

Straits of Mackinac variation from String Frenzy at the far left, a giant Flying Dutchman block!  A beautiful hand appliqued (and in the process of hand quilting) iris quilt, and a fun Drunkard's path!

Inside close up.

Absolutely gorgeous detail!

(and the quilting is coming along great!)

Springy sampler - love that scalloped edge! Rhododendron Trail variation, Log cabin, and a pretty medallion quilt!

Disappearing nine path, log cabin variation, and a very Eastery looking lap quilt!

There were some other fine finishes during retreat - this one will go to a children's charity. Super cute!

And one last Big Block from our Emerald City workshop made it to this stage before packing up and heading home.  Well done!  Emerald City is in my book String Frenzy.

It was a marvelous retreat with a wonderful group of women -

Is it any wonder I needed a nap and a do nothing day? LOL!

After everyone had left -

Mabel's Choice hanging in the Hen Den!

Look for this as a May PDF pattern release.

Unchained is looking fun and springy and brightening up the front foyer.

And I did this little video yesterday in between pulling quilts and writing blurbs.

Both Big String Quartet and Kiss Me, Kiwi! are already marked 25% off in the Quiltville Store - no coupon needed.  Pricing good through 3/31/24.

Did you enter the Gift-Away on yesterday's post yet?

I'll be drawing for 2 lucky winners to each win a PDF copy of Big String Quartet from me, AND a Rolling in Color rainbow roll from Cotton to Quilts!
Color rolls contain 20 fabrics measuring approximately 8 1/2'' X 21''. Perfect for enhancing your scrap stash and brightening up your own string collection.
We'll draw for our winners on Saturday March 30th! Winners must have fabric prize shipped to a USA Address.
And I think that catches me up to now.
Irene's Sewciologists will be arriving this afternoon.  There are beds to make and towels to fold and last minute things that need to be done.
And more blurbs to write.
And some blocks to play with are my reward for getting all of the above in the done column.
How's it looking for your Wednesday?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -
All three of these things need to play together.
We have to start where we are, with what we are able to do.
We need to be motivated enough to try to push our boundaries and keep going no matter where we are in our journey.
And of course, ATTITUDE is EVERYTHING!
Have a great Wednesday, everyone.

  4. That quote! Yesterday I pushed myself nearly beyond my physical limits, and while I was sitting and resting before the final push (wondering if I wanted to see this project to the end, or push it off to another day), I said to myself, "You've reached the easy part of this job. Now act like it!"

Very much the attitude adjustment I needed to finish the work!

I always look forward to seeing the quilts over the rail. This group was very colorful. The Disappearing Nine Patch is actually a Blooming Nine Patch pattern. My guild used this pattern as a group project at our 2023 retreat.

The iris quilt looks like a Marie Webster design. Beautiful. 💜
