Oopsie Daisie is a Top!

I finally got QPO sewing time!

Once all of the pattern writing was done and released, and the Etsy store closing thing was behind me - I finally had time to do what I'd been wanting to do for what seems like forever.

The plan was to do this BEFORE New Zealand, but we all know where those kind of plans go - back to the land of wishful thinking.

How many block quarters did I end up making?

528

528 little block quarters that became 132 blocks set 11 X 12 for a quilt center that measures 66'' X 72'' before borders.

Top sewn together and stay-stitched around the edges.

I used SO MUCH random stuff in here!

Is it perfect? Heck no.  There are mis-matched points in places, but most are "good." There are some fabrics that I wish I had spread around a bit more. Some blocks are a bit wonky.

I don't care!  It's a quilt meant to be loved until it falls apart - I'm not going for museum quality here. Just fun.

And it has been - all of these units WERE made the traditional Leaders & Enders way. using the block pieces as the "sew-betweens" over several quilts that have been made since we first started the Oopsie Daisie Leader & Ender challenge back in July.

It really is something that I work on continuously from the time the challenge starts, finishing sometime after New Year.  I'm not the first to finish - but I eventually get there.

This thing is a wonder for flat chairs!

Jenny brought her SoJoy Swivel Cushion as it is her first time at Quiltville Inn and she didn't know what our sitting situation would be. #ad

This thing is MARVELOUS - it swivels!!!!! You don't have to move your whole chair to get out, or to turn to the side to press at your machine.  Awesome awesome - I think we ALL have one on order now!

And this busy little section -Chilhowie are being worked on, but in the mean time she has gathered everyone's Silk Path strip set leavings and has sewn them into a cute little improve piece.

There is also some fun string piecing happening on adding machine tape with other cast offs from surrounding quilters.  Nothing goes to waste, and I am loving it!

Yesterday was also Jenny's birthday - how fun to come and spend your birthday on retreat with a wonderful group of gals!  Carrot cake and all!

Set Up For Superbowl!

Some of the ladies wanted to know where they could watch the Superbowl - and I said "At the QPO!"

Nothing will prompt me into a deep clean like the idea of company in my space when I'm not there.  LOL!

I understand part of the game was enjoyed, but the streaming kept freezing up (Thank you rural internet!) but it's the thought that counts.

As for me?  We watched from Half-Time on to the end and I was happy that it was such a close game.  Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, the 49ers were always my brother Mark's favorite so I was cheering on for him.  It got down to the end and Kansas City pulled it out in an amazing overtime.

And through it all I quilted more Baptist fans and turned another corner -
