And Off They Go!

Yesterday was our first "Over the Porch Rail" photo op of 2024!

And we were met with rain, mist, drizzle - looking for the best of any dry opportunity to get the job done.

We should have done this Sunday - but folks were still working on their projects.

And yet - two of our members had to return home early for various reasons bringing our group number to 10 instead of 12, also leaving us two quilts short of a quilt show over the rail!

Betty's!

And in the kerfuffle of arranging, rearranging, catching it all before the rain started again - I forgot to do what is standard for me - get close ups of the quilts in the porch sections so you can really see them.

Some folks wanted  solo photos of them and their quilt, so I got those. But the sections? Where was my brain?

Betty's Indigo Way top!

Gail's completed, quilted and bound Indigo Way!

I love how she used extra units out into her borders.  Fun!

Jenny's Chilhowie om twin size!

Zoomed in photo of that fun section showing Silk Path block finishes and Linda's cute star top.

I shared a photo of her top the other day. It was a Fat Quarter Shop box project - perfect for sewing up at retreat.

By yesterday, she was making big Lemoyne stars!

Zoomed in photo of next section

Michelle made a black/gray four patch quilt with pops of pink - Jeanette is sharing her Scrappy Mountain Majesties in rainbow (Free Patterns tab) Jenny's Chilhowie again, and two more folks working on Silk Path blocks and an improv piece made from Silk Path leftovers.

I shared a photo of the impromptu improve (aka trash can quilt!) earlier.

LOVE IT!

Meanwhile on design walls -

Michelle and moved on to cute kitties.

Betty got her Lisa Bonjean Christmas Trees quilt all the way up to the borders - the outer border fabric is waiting at home so that will happen later.

Linda won the Rip Jar contents: $42.85

Barbara won the Cuss Jar contents: $57.76!

(Evidently there was more cussing that ripping! LOL!)

I asked about the extra 76 cents and Tonni said that someone contributed extra change.

My reply? Maybe some cuss words don't cost as much as others.  Hahahaha!

Silly bunny rabbit fingers!

You just know these gals are so much fun to retreat with.

Thank you so much for opening our 5th season, February Quiltvillians!  It's kicked this year off to such a grand start!

Meanwhile at the QPO Studio - borders for the win!

I hope to start quilting today in between loads of laundry, etc.  We'll see how that goes.

The Winter Cardinal PDF pattern release including Star of Hope is going great guns -Thank you, everyone!

If you missed it, click over to Friday's Post to read all about it and add yourself to the Gift-Away.

Indigo Way is also now available as a PDF pattern booklet!

Both Indigo Way and Winter Cardinal are currently 25% off in the Quiltville Store ONLY. No coupon needed. Sale price good through 2/23/24.  Price reverts back to full on 2/24/24.

And I think that's all the news I have for now.

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Snails Trail made by me, machine quilted in straight lines by domestic machine, somewhere around 1995.
It's well worn and faded now, but I still love it -
Quilting still occupies my thoughts and sets my soul on fire!

  6. Beautiful finishes! Great to see Indigo Way finishes...I should have Block A's finished today, and then on to Block B. Your Oopsie Daisie top is gorgeous! Love how the borders just make it pop and bring it all together. By the way, how is the new floor sanding/refinishing holding up with your guest traffic?

  7. YAY! So happy the porch rail photos are back! Always such inspiration found there. I loved the Christmas trees quilt with the patchwork in them. The cups for ripping & cursing were cute! I think today we are just making it work! LOL... Looking forward to the long weekend ahead. Happy quilting!

Wondering how the winner of the Rip Jar and Cuss Jar is determined. Is it the person who Rips or Cusses the most/best/least ? Jane

I really like your 1995 Snail Trail. Soft Americana - lovely. The light shirting prints are so soft and pretty in the background.
