Sew Long, November Quiltvillians!

Nearly mid-November and short sleeves!

I'm so glad we captured these moments because there is a cold snap coming next week, and I need something warm and sunny to reflect on as I accept the fact that it can't stay lovely like this forever!

As folks were packing up and saying their goodbyes yesterday, we all commented on what a lovely driving day they had ahead of them.  It was truly magical!

And so are the quilts over the porch rail!

Some quilts were brought to sleep under.

Some tops were finished here at retreat.

It all added up to one big porch full of eye candy, so fun to share with cars passing by on a Monday afternoon.

I love positive/negative designs - so light bear paw blocks on a dark background is just fantastically classic!

Bitcoin is extra special as each retreater donated some of their own strips to the making of this top so all of the retreat memories are in there.

The Christmas medallion is stunning and such a fun quick finish.

Jamestown Landing from String Fling is SO gorgeous as is the Allietare top that was worked on all through retreat.  Such gorgeous colors!

Barbara's En Provence started out as a few units on the wall, and came together just in time for photo taking!

We all fell in love with the quilty girls quilt, choosing our favorite blocks from the many!  Here is a close up!

SO FUN!

Also in the photo above this one - Jewel Box Stars, Frolic, and the corner of a wonderful Grassy Creek.

Well done, ladies!

Another Jamestown Landing under way, a Unity quilt followed by Sister’s Choice from the Free Patterns Tab.

So much gorgeousness!  Roll Roll Cotton Boll from String Fling and another lovely Unity quilt.

Grassy Creek, Frolic with an amazing border, and a leader & ender 16 patch cutie!

I jumped into this photo!

The On Ringo Lake has curved geese!  This adds such a special touch!

Close up of the Wonky Wishes!  The bright colored sashing is also a treat!

Thank you so much for coming, ladies!

We'll see you next November!

One of the things I dearly love seeing are the side benefits of coming to retreat - finding that you live "not too far" from someone else, and plans are being made to do other group things, like go to Paducah, or meet up at this, that, or the other things.

It's wonderful to know that these ladies are staying in touch throughout the rest of the year, even if I won't see them here again until next November.

There will be more stories to tell when I see them again.  There will be more raucous laughter and more good food to come.

Today Lori's Stitchin' Sisters are arriving around 4pm.  It's a day for making beds after doing all of the laundry yesterday. It's a day for some finishing touches, and for a bit of stitching before the cars start rolling in.

Did you get any sewing done yesterday?  Did you organize fabrics, press and cut?

Did you see that the new Quiltmaker has hit newsstands and is available by digital copy?

I'll be sharing my own progress on the Ruby Jubilee mystery we are starting with this issue TOMORROW!

If you are feeling fidgety while waiting for Rhododendron Trail to begin November 26th - perhaps this is something you can through yourself into while you wait.
I have placed the printable PDF pattern for Pine Tree Point at 25% off - only $9.00 in the digital pattern section of the Quiltville Store. Sale price good through 11/24/21 when it will return to full price at $12.00. No coupon code required.

I made the runner in blue, too!  Good for having out all winter long!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Antique broken dishes quilt shared by my friend Siobhan.

I truly believe this.
If you are feeling bad about your situation, go and help someone who's got more struggles than you do.
It will open your eyes to all you've already been blessed with.

  2. I got a new sewing machine in October and I finally found a carpenter willing to adapt my sewing table so it fits down in. I’m very excited!

  3. I put the binding on a quilt and finished it just this morning before breakfast. Planning on clearing off my ironing board so I can install the wool padding under the cover - lots of pressing in my future! And must mention that my serpentine blocks are going on the design 'wall' today! So excited to see it coming together.

  6. My Blue Heaven is all loaded and ready to quilt.
I had a procedure done at the hospital this morning so I'll take it easy today.
Always sad to see the quilters go home but their quilts are beautiful in the sun.

  7. Last night I sewed (and pressed) the 4 corner triangles and 10 cornerstones to sashing rectangles for Winter Blues as well as the Leader Ender that had been under the needle. That's all I managed as the switch to DST finally caught up to me. I went to bed at 830pm according to the "new" time.

Loved the ponies from the other day, especially the tan fluffy one. She looks so cuddly haha! How wonderful most of us have had such a beautiful fall & I’m so happy for you Bonnie that before it got cold you were able to go on a hike!!

I’m getting MOT Better for sure! Cleaned out the fridge freezer for the first time in probably 3 years or more! Yes…😳 I am more enthused to clean out & reorganized than I have been since I retired 2 1/2 years ago. Thank you for EVERYTHING you inspire us to do!

And what type of oil do you use on your antiques? I have several pieces over due for that including my treadle and the cabinet that my “new” Singer 66 came in!!

    Blessings! Marci H.

  10. Love seeing the quilts! Thank you, Bonnie, for all you do. Today's quote is so encouraging. It is in our DNA to care and share and only in that do we find true joy.

  11. Love all the quilts today and the ponies. Pulled my back, so haven’t been able to do anything all weekend. Feels better today, still taking it easy. Tomorrow will start unpacking more boxes. Thank you for all your encouragement. Ratchell from AR.
