Bye Bye, Bonniacs!

We caught the sunshine!

I'm so glad we did - the weather has been doing what late November weather does - it plays both sides of the coin from sunny to cloudy to rainy to frosty -

The side porch at Quiltville Inn faces West - so we are deeply in need of that late afternoon sun this time of the year to not have everything on the porch in shadows.

And then there is the wind...which was luckily at bay on this day.

And just look at this wonderful array of quilts!

Texas Braid from Adventures with Leaders & Enders, a terrific string quilt, and not just one, but TWO lovely On Ringo Lake quilts in this photo!

A terrifically scrappy Snail’s Trail inspired by my Rockabilly Swing quilt, a T-shirt quilt, a 16-patch rainbow quilt with selvage sayings. (This was SO CUTE!) and a beautiful Grassy Creek finish!

Tulip Time! (Nola worked on her binding while here too!) Granny Square, Straits of Mackinac from String Frenzy, Pineapple Blossom from the Free Patterns tab, and a stunning Good Fortune!

And then there was Indigo a Go-go class from String Frenzy!

I love it when two quilters work on one project together!  Look at how this is coming together!

It was fun watching design walls fill up through the weekend.

It was also fun pulling the gold centers for these nine-patches from my own stash when the quilt just needed "something." HAPPY!!

Lime green and navy!  Yum!!

Ready to join rows!

Another coming together.

But we are starving!  Let's break for lunch!

And how about some treadle lessons?

Well done, ladies!

One of the big "yahoo!" moments for me was when Laura (upper photo above) exclaimed that she needs a treadle machine, and she needs it NOW!

Santa-Bonnie told her if she was serious, there was one that needed a home in the garage, brought up from the Wallburg house.

We loaded it up in the van ono Sunday evening, and last night it was home being unloaded in Indiana - many happy treadling hours to come, Laura!

It's also a momentous day for the Hubster and me - today we close on the Wallburg house.  It will belong to its new owners as of 3pm this afternoon.

It's done.  They are happy.  We are happy. It's all kind of surreal how fast and how smoothly everything went once it went on the market.

Oh, what a load off!

Thanksgiving is 2 days away.

Part One of Rhododendron Trail is 3 days away.

There is so much to be grateful for!

Have you started cooking your Thanksgiving feast?  Are there family favorites that you MUST serve on Thanksgiving?

I am missing my dad yet again this year.  He is going to my sister-in-law's for Thanksgiving where he will see all 5 of his grandkids (And their kids!) from that side.  That makes me happy.

He will then head up to my brother Scott's in Idaho for Christmas.  And I plan to head to Phoenix at the end of January so we can celebrate our birthdays together.
I have placed the printable PDF pattern for Pine Tree Point at 25% off - only $9.00 in the digital pattern section of the Quiltville Store. Sale price good through 11/24/21 when it will return to full price at $12.00. No coupon code required.

It's time to pull out those languishing holiday fabrics and sew yourself into the holiday spirit!
I made the runner in blue, too!  Good for having out all winter long!

Sale ends THANKGIVING MORNING - so don't miss it!

And while you are at it - don't forget to enter the November '21 Quilty Box Gift-Away!

It's full of fantastic goodies you are going to want to get your hands on.  Enter to win On That Post. Drawing to happen Saturday 11/27/21.

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

In this crazy life there is one thing that anchors me. I need to stick with love.
I believe quilting and our love of quilting gives those of us who DO quilt an opportunity to see beyond the differences we see everywhere.
It gives us a “Common Thread” and a deep understanding that crosses boundaries. ⁣
Let’s focus on that.
I’m grateful for our Quilty Abundance!

    1. I'm trying a new recipe that calls for pearl onions and I had a hard time finding them (no frozen / had to get fresh).

  7. I lost my message… not sure if I made it go through or it’s gone!!😢 I’ll finish the last part…cooking has begun… the premade gravy from roasted Turkey parts are ready for the drippings & giblets to be added, cranberry relish and dough for rolls will be today along with some house cleaning. I do the whole meal like mom did… candied roasted sweet potatoes with brown sugar butter syrup & roasted marshmallows, mashed taters & giblet gravy, peas with mushrooms, dressing, pumpkin & pecan pies… this year I’m trying to butterfly roast (aka spatchcock) turkey… yum!!

And if my first message didn’t go through, thank you for your positive messages… yes choose love!!
And for such generosity in gifting the treadle to one of the ladies!! How sweet of you!
    Blessings, Marci H

  8. Almost that time!
Love the Texas Braid hanging over the porch.
I imagine you're busy getting ready for Thanksgiving too. Last minute details.
We put the tree up yesterday as I wouldn't have time to do that once the mystery starts.
    Blessings.

  9. Today I'm making my homemade cranberry sauce. I make enough now to preserve for Christmas dinner, and to have on toast, bagels, or ice cream throughout the winter. I am also working on gluing back together the base for my new-to-me 1950's blue Morse today. Can't wait to use it on the mystery this year!
