When I returned home from Michigan, there were some goodies in the mail!
Goodies of the favorite kind!
Quiltmaker is the ONLY magazine I get. The skills I have learned from start to finish projects in Quiltmaker have contributed so much to the quilter I am today. Each project does take you start to finish!
The only thing I really didn’t want to see?
The fact that it says DECEMBER and is in CHRISTMAS COLORS already.
I had the same sinking feeling walking through Sam’s club the other night ---ALL the Christmas stuff is out, and every year we go though this…it’s ONLY October! But the closer we get to the end of the year, the faster it goes. It starts with Labor Day and before we know it, it’s tax season!
However, this issue is packed with fun projects – I can give you a sneak preview here:
Just some of the goodies you’ll find inside!
Wait until you see the full quilts..this is just a teaser!
Another thing I love are the articles. This issue is all about sewing with a buddy, or with a group. It includes patterns and ideas for group projects!
And Quilt-cam even got a shout out as a way we can quilt together as buddies from far away:
Here we are!
I love the inclusion of the vintage quilting bee photo – and then there at the bottom is Quilt-Cam! What would those quilting bee ladies think about what we have available to us now!
BTW, did you catch Quilt-Cam last night? NO?? You can access it in the archives by clicking the Quilt-Cam Tab at the top of the blog!
Also included in this issue is my Addicted to Scraps column, and we’ve got a fun block for you this month with loads of possibilities for turning those scraps into a gorgeous quilt!
Circle of Friends Block!
I made this block in honor of all the quilting friends that so enrich our lives. What would be be without them??
What colors would you choose?
Maybe you’ll set them like this:
Find more info at Quiltmaker.com HERE.
Quiltmaker’s Treasure Hunt is underway. More than $24,000 in prizes will be awarded to lucky winners. Think quilting fabric, batting, thread, books, notions and more.
You don’t want to miss it. Head over to Quiltmaker.com to find out more!
I’m also giving a way a sweet prize! It’s not a long arm machine, but it IS a copy of the Nov/Dec 2014 issue:
You can be the lucky winner!
Included in this issue is a bonus of 12 favorites from the 100 blocks by 100 designers series!
Remember to leave your name and your email address if it is not visible within your profile. If I can’t reach you, I’ll have to choose someone else.
If you are trying to comment through Facebook or a blog reader service, it won’t work, especially from a mobile device. If you still see the blue bar across the top of your screen, you are still IN Facebook, so open us up in a new browser window and try to comment there.
We’ll be using the random number generator, so only entries posted in the comments section on THIS POST will be eligible. That means no guest book entries, no emails, no Facebook comments – it’s gotta be here ON the blog so we can use the number generator to draw fairly.
For other “unable to comment” problems, click the Blog Helps Tab at the top of the blog for more info.
Good luck everyone! As soon as my morning chores are done, I am up to Quilt Villa for the weekend!
There is a certain Mystery Quilt that needs to become a TOP!

ReplyDeleteI love Christmas and am always on the lookout for something new to make each year.

Enjoy that time at quiltville . I know Sadie will be excited as soon as she gets in the car. Every year at this time I think I should have just left my Christmas tree up and decorated! I always think that I'll put less on my tree but when I pull out those old 60+ year old items or the little paper decorations my children made in school, I cannot leave them in the box so I wind up putting everything on it once again.
ReplyDeleteI'm not ready for Christmas stuff! But I do like your Circle of Friends block. It would be great for a block swap with a few friends.

Really enjoyed quilt cam last night. Used my "new" 301a to do some 4 patches. You've inspired me to look for vintage machines despite having a wonderful TOL Brother. I hate that the new ones seem to always have a bit of planned obsolescence.
ReplyDeleteAs a bonus my hubby enjoys working on the old machines. He is currently restoring a treadle for me! Can't wait to learn to use it. Thanks for your inspiration, Bonnie.
