More Mineola Show & Share!

20141025_133547
I was in Mineola, TX for 3 days of classes at Stitchin’ Heaven which means LOADS of lunch time show & share!

More than you can fit in one blog post.  More than you can fit in 2 ---and I’m here to show you some more!

what is not to love about a classic Grandmother’s flower garden?

Sandra brought in this one, with its double paths of muslin around each pink rimmed flower.  Gotta love those yellow centers!

What a cheery quilt!

I don’t quite remember where she said she found this one, but it was so very nicely done.

Close up of the sweetness!

Great 1940s church dash!

This one had some wonderful fabrics in it..bold and busy, bright and happy!  Imagine these prints as dresses, skirts and aprons!  I just love churn dashes!  I also think it is fun that this one did not just use a simple muslin background, it’s print on print! BUSY HAPPY!

Orca Bay from String Fling is in the house!

And she gets an extra round of applause because she made a gazillion more blocks to fit her bed.  It does look like it fits in with a Texas theme, doesn’t it?  Awesome job!

Put that old denim to good use!

This quilt top looks SO graphic, almost pixelated, doesn’t it?  This is Denim Rails from Scraps & Shirttails!  It’s just got to be quilted and bound.  This quilt is sturdy and will last a life time.

Both of my boys LOVE their denim quilts made from their own jeans the best.

Portable design wall!

This is a Smith Mountain Morning from Scraps & Shirttails II redo!  She was not fond of tri-recs units, so she swapped out a 3 piece triangle unit for the star points.  It still works!  It’s going to be a beautiful quilt when it is done.

Hand quilting in progress!

Close up..little hexies and tiny diamonds.  Beautiful!

Meliza’s Talkin’ Turkey from String Fling!

Close up…rainbow strings!

This quilt is just a fiesta of scrappiness!  LOVE IT!

Meliza’s bright and happy Celtic Solstice!

And her completed Star Struck from the free patterns tab!

She used the bonus triangles in her outer border…isn’t this great?

String X also from the free patterns tab.

That purple border really does the trick!

When I finish my current Spider Web string project, this is the next one I want to redo.  I need a new class sample – so this is up and coming on the list for future Quilt-Cam projects.  Maybe you’ll consider joining me?

Pat’s Scrap Crystals from MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders!

She did an amazing job finishing this top, and traveled with it unquilted so it could fit in her suitcase.  Not only did she bring this top, but was flying with her sewing machine as well.  She’ll quilt it when she gets home.  So great to see you and Charlotte, Pat!  Pat lives in Maryland, and Charlotte in New York…so it was quite a haul for them to come all the way to Texas but they are women on a mission – classes at Stitchin Heaven, visting Charlotte’s grand kids, visiting Galveston, and then finishing off their trip this weekend at Quilt Festival in Houston.  Sounds perfectly wonderful to me!

Today’s plan is to actually get out and do some San Antonio sight seeing.  I’ve not seen the missions, and we want to go see some other things as well.

When I was here last February we did quite a bit including the River Walk, etc ---so we don’t want to waste time with repeats, and we have an agenda!

And there will be more sewing.

And more photos to follow!

Have a great Thursday, everyone!
