Hello! It's Been A Few!

It's May 8th here in Hanoi -

It has been a while since I've had time to sit at my laptop with a wifi connection and download/edit photos and write a post.

We kind of knew it would be this way - our group has had hotel checkouts by 7:30 am, and then we don't get back to our rooms in our next location, or the location we are currently at until 9pm after dinner.

The Road To Sapa!

Good Morning!

Our group has arrived in Sapa, Vietnam - up in the mountains about a 5 hour drive north of Hanoi.

One thing I tell everyone when traveling is to never hold on to your itinerary too tightly, adventures are subject to change!

In this case it was change - as in change a tire - because one of ours blew on the highway, and our driver brought us safely to a place where he could have that tire changed in a flash -

And we as travelers could experience a bit of local roadside market fare!

A Water Puppet Evening!

How many of you have taken the time to enjoy the movie "Traveler's Guide to Love" on Netflix?

We are visiting so many of the spots shown in the Hanoi portion of that movie - and it is so fun that I saw the movie only a week ago.

Schmaltzy in a Hallmark kind of way?  Yes!  But I enjoyed it for my first touristy look at this beautiful country and a week later - I'm standing here.

I'm still pinching myself!

That - and trying to get my body on some sort of non-upside-down rhythm.  

I'm heading to bed in a few minutes so I thought I would shoot this out there while my eyeballs are still cooperating.

Hello From Hanoi!

Hi everybody!

I'm posting quickly to let you know that we arrived in Hanoi after some long long flights and what seens like even longer layovers - but we are here!

Sleeping on a plane in a sitting position is not the greatest in the world - but all things considered, if I got 5 hours of good shut eye on that flight - I'm good to go.

AS I said - this is a short post as I finally did have that good night's sleep = horizontally = in a very comfy bed at our hotel, and am up and raring to go so more will come later -

I thought I'd just drop some scenes so you can see where we are and what it is like here.
