The dining room is full -
The porch tables are empty.
While there is sunshine in the afternoons back there to be enjoyed as long as it lasts, it's safe to say that meal times have all been moved inside.
And walking into the clatter of forks on plates, bursts of laughter and so much chatter is also a heartwarming thing when I come through the front door.
It also gives me the opportunity to race around the quilting quarters snapping photos of projects appearing at sewing stations. All of the scrappy fun, and so many cute things!
What's not to love about tiny sawtooth stars?
And there are some sampler blocks to go with them.
There is an Indigo Way underway as folks rush to finish earlier mysteries before our new one starts!
Little mini quilt getting a binding.
Embroidery panels being set together!
I love this! So cute!
It was worked as a block of the month, and it just needs outer borders.
More Mabel's Choice blocks on the design wall.
Love these sweet 30s prints!
I know what this is! Do you?
There is some sewing down of the strips happening here -
Some Bitcoin fun on retreat!
From block quarters -
To block halves -
And full Waterford blocks on the wall!
Have you made one?
Somehow in between everything, Kimi also managed to make a bag?
Love it!
Pretty in peach!
This is a labor of love!
Perfect block for a Quilt of Valor!
In my own little studio there was a bit more of this -
Not a lot, just a bit more.
I keep plugging away.
All of these fabrics are like old friends -
That squares box is being sewn down....but there are still so many squares!
I'm including everything in here - even some pieces of upcycled shirts.
Evening TV watching time -
Okay, mostly LISTENING time -
I'm just about finished with the grey round...and then there will be neutral fill in corners to surround everything.
I love that this quilt I have in mind is a "two motif" layout and it allows me to switch up what motif I'm stitching and keeps it from being too monotonous.
With the autumn colors all around me, I love working with the oranges, greens, and greys. It fits right in!
We are off like a firecracker with our Festival PDF pattern release and Gift-Away!
I am so anxious to see what you do with this one. Whatever colors and fabrics you choose.
Did you get your entry in on the Gift-Away post?
I'll be drawing for 2 winners who will each receive a Festival PDF pattern from me AND a Facets of Yellow color roll from our friends at Cotton to Quilts!
And do check out their other color rolls! The Notable Neutrals rolls can't be beat for building up your own collection of fun neutrals for scrappy quilt backgrounds.
Sparkling Stars!
A trip to Romania inspired this sparkling 2-block design in red, yellow & blue – the colors of the Romanian flag! Designed for foundation paper piecing by machine, this pattern includes Full color photos, printable paper-piecing templates, diagrams and piecing options.
Quilt size: 63’’ X 63’’
Optional but helpful: Bonnie K. Hunter's Essential Triangle Tool for the border units.
Traditional rotary cutting methods and paper piecing templates are given for those who don't have access to the ruler.
Intro pricing: I have placed Festival at 25% off in the Quiltville Store through 11/1/26. No coupon needed. Discount given at check-out.
We will draw for our winners on Friday, October 30th! That's coming up soon!
After this past week and all that we crammed into it, I don't want to get dressed or go out anywhere!
Except back to the retreat to see what the ladies are up to. And to my studio to play with more kite shapes and keep plugging away on this thing.
How about you - any plans for this weekend?
I hope you enjoy it!
