Lasts Days of May -

It's Monday. It's the beginning of a new week. And a new month.  June is here.

How does that happen?

I almost feel sad about June....later in the month that summer solstice happens and we start decreasing our daylight time and in my mind I'm hearing "And here we go again...the slow descent into the depths of winter."

But for now....I'm going to enjoy every bit of every summer day we have ahead of us and make them count.

And that's what we did!

Even Mabel and Zoey put their paws to gravel on yesterday's dirt road hike.  We are prepping them for today - headed up to Grayson Highlands in search of ponies.  I think they are ready!

We can't sew all day and into the night unless we get up and move our bodies!

I am always awed by the flora and how it changes week to week.  This is newly blooming...look how feathery!

Anyone know what this is?

Meanwhile, back at the inn, the retreaters have been busy!

Indigo Way is now awaiting borders!

It's never too early for Punkin Patch from String Frenzy. 

I love the added purples. So cute!

I spent most of my weekend at my desk working on the PDF pattern for String Rings. Look forward to that releasing on June 17th if all goes right.

I want this done and ready and off my plate before I leave for Romania on Friday.

As you can tell, Hazel is doing her best to keep me focused.

On the home front - Tula has added new behaviors.  She is now jumping up on the couch to lie down by me. This is NEW!  And she will accept pets and scratches. She may never be a LAP cat, but this is acceptable!

Caught her mid yawn! LOL!

She loves to play with her little catnip mice - she will go at it for the longest time batting them around and chasing them.  It's so cute to watch.  And since she loves playing, I know she is settled and happy with us as an inside cat.

And later yesterday afternoon before heading home I was able to do some piecing on the flying geese border for Goose Feathers. I need around 50 of these little sections so it's not likely I'll finish them before I leave for Romania, but they will be here when I get back.  This batch is waiting to be trimmed and depapered.

And drum roll, please!
I have finished the last neutral hexie border.  YAY!
That means that I only have the large motifs to finish and those will be traveling with me as well as being worked on during evening time.  I want this quilt top finished by the end of the year.
Can I do it?
Will there be another hexie quilt in the making to replace it?
It truly is the easiest of evening TV time stitching.
