Odds & Ends!

There's one thing sure about the weather - it is always subject to change!

And here in Virginia we can get at least 3 seasons all in one week if not in one day.

A few days ago it was 35 in the morning. Like - WHAT? No, I'm not walking my driveway in that.

Yesterday?  Folks - we reached 86 on the mountain and it was 96 in Richmond. Seriously?

Pack a sweater and a personal fan because you are going to need it!

No afternoon walk happened yesterday - but on Sunday? It was only "marginally" hot at 11am and we worked in a quick dirt road walk down by the river before giving it all up to the cool of the A/C inside.

It's great in the shade!

We went from shady resting spot to shady resting spot where we could.

One of these days, this old bungalow is going to just give way - right now the whole back side is gone.

And up to the state line we went. One foot in North Carolina, the other in Virginia - and yes - they replaced that sign, finally! The old one you could hardly read anymore.

I'm always grateful for willing quilters who will get out and walk with me.  It really helps to meet my daily step goals and adds in some conversation and laughter time while doing it.

These flowers are darling by themselves - but look:

They get jars!  A cute one from Cluck Cluck Sew.

Open Window is coming along!

One cute and springy table runner completed!

Big bold prints on the design wall -

In the cool of my own studio - I'm still plugging away at this mess.

I thought I was nearly reaching where I wanted to go - but when I finally figured out where borders are leading me, I realized I was only about 2/3 the way there.  What?!

Just keep sewing, Bonnie - just keep sewing!

It's even too hot for Hazel outside right now.  I let her out in the morning after feeding her, and within an hour, I opened the back door of the studio to find her laying on the doormat in the shade.

She knows a good thing when she's got it, and that fur gets extra hot in the sun.

This morning the May Quiltvillians are on their way out the door - it's a laundry day and house flipping begins to get everything ready for the incoming Quilters Of The Night -

I might not get many blocks made today -

But this driveway walk will happen this morning.

(Trying to gear myself up for it.)

And yes, I'll stop to admire the Mountain Lauren blooming in the woods!

What advice are your quilts giving you? ⁣

I'm not exactly sure what mine are telling me!
