The Quilt District ladies are in the house, headed up by group mom Tara Miller!
And by looking at this photo, you'd think that I pre-coordinated hanging my Dogwood Daze quilt in the front foyer to coordinate with the gorgeous fabrics she's brought.
Oh, my! The yummy goodness, and the absolute thrill of having fabrics come to ME instead of having to drive to them.
Pink dogwoods are in bloom, so of COURSE I had to hang Dogwood Daze.
The one in front of the house is a white one, and it is looking glorious as well!
Some folks arrived on Wednesday afternoon, and others didn't arrive until yesterday afternoon so really the party is just getting started!
Projects are beginning and things are starting to appear on design walls.
And design floors!
This is the cover quilt from Kim Diehl's Simple Appeal book.
Random sampler in progress - in PURPLE!
And a Sovereignty Top finish!
Fabulous String quilt in the webbing stage!
(I bet it will be together by the time I arrive this morning.)
Quilters pumping iron!
Meanwhile next door - this was going on. Still. As in. Continuing....
This is mixed up bin number two. Started because I didn't have time for sorting at the time, and then I went from one bin of mix up to two bins of mix up and it was just time to sort it if I was going to make any progress with these fabrics at all.
Supervisor sleeping on the job!
It's a big job. I'm not going to lie. I would grab a handful and put it in my lap and I would just decide which color pile the next piece was going in.
Anything small and chunky went into another basket.
Things too small or too skinny to save were tossed.
Not going very quickly when this girl hops up into my lap!
I am happy to report that I have TWO empty bins. EMPTY. The remaining string bins sorted by color family are however much more full! LOL! But, oh...the possibilities.
And I love having "new to me" fabrics mixed in with my own scraps. It makes it much more fun to use them up.
That is, if you can get Hazel out of the neutrals bin - because I need to sew with those right now!
"What? You want this piece?"
And there was a bit of this.
I'm liking it so far.
And I'm liking it even better now that I have sorted out those two bins and found reds that I can use for the flying geese, a whole bunch of neutrals and aqua/turquoise and I'm not digging near as much through stuff that I don't need for this project to get to what I do need.
Last night had me putting the finishing stitches into the binding - half the hanging sleeve and label left to stitch down. That should happen tonight!
I also love how excited you are about or Open Window PDF pattern release and Gift-Away that happened in yesterday's post!
