Lupine & Laughter Mystery - Part Six!

Happy Boxing Day, friends!

"The Day After" can come with a sense of relief that we have made it through yet another Christmas season -

I know many of you may still have family around and need something a bit lighter this week,

So how about we put some more things together?

But before we get sewing - I've got to share yet another waterfall experience from our Craftours trip to Iceland with you!

It was cold, wet and rainy, but that didn't stop us from getting up close to this magnificent waterfall!

See the people on the pathway on the right?  They are all going BEHIND the waterfall.

It was already raining and I was trying to keep what little I could dry.  They could have at it - I wasn't going back there!

There were places in the ground that let forth little geothermal bursts of steam.

There were other waterfalls further up the trail such as this one.  It started raining harder.  I caught what photos I could and gave up, making a beeline for the gift shop, cafe and restrooms. HA!

Let's Sew!

Click HERE for Part Six PDF.

Today is another assembly day from Parts we've already made - the half-square triangles coming from Part Three and the half-rectangles coming from Part Four.

We will be making 24 sets of 4 matching with these parts.

Units will measure 5'' unfinished and finish at 4 1/2'' in the quilt.

It's basically an uneven four-patch.  Position units as shown. Join units into rows, pressing seams toward the half-square triangle units.

Join rows to complete units, pressing seam toward the larger half-square triangle (top row) unit and half-rectangle.

This is what we want!

This is the whole reason for that 1/8'' margin in the trimming of the half-rectangle units.  Now that the 1/4'' seam is taken up, points match where they should!

Make 24 sets of 4 matching

Units will measure 5'' unfinished and finish at 4 1/2'' in the quilt.

That's it for this week folks - take time to slow down and enjoy this week leading up to New Year's Day.  We'll see you back here for Part Seven on 1/2/26.

Happy New Year!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -
