With such a gorgeous sky as our backdrop!
Old Town on the left - the colors were inspired by the view across the street from the inn last year!
Color inspirations for quilts are everywhere.
Lovely sampler on the right - if you have pattern info please leave it in the comments section below.
So much going on here!
This Old Town finish has navy as a background instead of neutral - what a dramatic difference this makes!
It's followed up with some pieced cone flowers, The beginnings of Wanderlust from the Addicted to Scraps book and a vey modern quilt made with rectangles. If you know the info on this pattern, please put it in the comments below.
Here's another more full out view of the Old Town with the Navy background -with the view across the street that inspired the colors in the previous one shown!
And full out over the rail!
Blooming nine -patch and another gorgeous Old Town!
Licorice Twist and a cozy Scrappy Mountain Majesties from the Free Patterns tab using recycled shirts.
And this photo shows how Barbara used shirt backs as her backing - There is a huge amount of fabric in one XXL man's shirt!
Even Allietare got a wonderful scrappy backing!
Do you remember way back when we did Orca Bay as our quiltville Winter Mystery? The pattern is now found in my book String Fling.
Next to it in lovely pinks and browns is Smith Mountain Morning from Scraps & Shirttails II.
Just in time for the holidays!
If you know the pattern info, please put it in the comments below.
Pineapple Crazy finish from String Fling.
I feel the need to stitch something super stringy and super scrappy coming on!
I'm so glad that I got to spend time with this wonderful group of ladies!
Travel home safely, everyone!
Dinner out with my guys after arriving in Vancouver, Washington!
The time for all three of us to be together was way too short, but Hubster Dave really needed to get home. He's been out here for two weeks, through Jason's surgery and his recovery to this point.
I'm ready for my turn to be mom and chauffer!'
Yesterday we made a trip to Costco where I picked up ingredients as well as some ready-to-heat meals to make things easy.
We've got movies and shows to watch, conversations to have, and of course hexies to be stitched.
But first today - getting those stitches out.
We've also made plans to visit a museum or two while we are here - it's rainy and dreary out, but we can walk around inside museums and that's the best thing that Jason can do right now is to walk.
The thing he is most nervous about right now? Not the removal of the stitches - it's that MOM will be driving his precious car. As if I haven't been driving for 45 years. But okay.
And since I haven't been able to post since Saturday did you know this is still going on?
The folks at Summit St are offering up TWO of the newest I'd Rather Be Sewing boxes in our Gift-Away, AND their newest of fun things for sewists: A My Stitchy Plushy!
Okay, this is the cutest thing.
You'll find these items as well as all of the Summit St box designs on their website HERE.
We'll have THREE winners! Get your entry in on the Gift-Away Post.
We'll draw for our winners on Saturday 11/8/25.
Okay, time to get a grown man-child up for some breakfast and get ready to head on out.
Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone -

YAY!!! For safe travels, family time, hugs and museums for wandering while it pours rain in the PNW. This motorhead wants to know the make/model/year the precious car?????
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I’ve been praying for Jason and your family every day. I’m so glad he’s doing well! Even brown men need their moms! Debby Gorman, Green valley, AZ
ReplyDeleteWonderful that things seem to going well. Happy you are able to be with Jason. Positive thoughts and prayers for Jason's full recovery!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Portland! I hope your visit goes well and your son continues to recover well. You mentioned museums…if you get to Portland try OMSI…Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Great setting on the Willamette River. Also the Oregon Historical Society is a great place…downtown Portland. Please let all your people know that Portland is NOT a burning hell-scape!!
ReplyDeleteI think the green and pink sampler quilt is a disappearing block kit from Missouri Star. (Garden Something?) Ellen Thompson
ReplyDeleteThere's a "Hands On" type museum on the water in Portland called the OMSI. It is a STEM-type with exhibits and hands-on activities. We spent a fun afternoon there with our adult girls.
ReplyDeleteJason is looking good! And I'm sure the dogs were happy to see Dave.
I pray for the pathology results to be great news!! Glad you can be with him and do the mommy thing. I am currently with my 40 something daughter after her surgery. She is doing well with mom here!!!
ReplyDeleteThe "sampler" is a Missouri Stary Quilt Company block of the month called The Magic Garden. With the exception of the center, the blocks are all made with 10-inch squares using variations of the disappearing hour glass block.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good looking kid. Dave look a like!!! Mom put the pedal to the metal!
ReplyDeleteHello! Regarding the beautiful Christmas quilt above from Bonnie Hunter, that is a design call "HC Christmas" from Vermont Quilt Design. The design can be seen on our website (vermontquiltdesign.com) and a digital pattern can be purchased on our Etsy page (https://www.etsy.com/shop/VermontQuiltDesign?ref=lp_mys_mfts). The link for this particular pattern is: https://www.etsy.com/listing/449495034/hc-christmas-quilt-pdf-digital-quilt
ReplyDeleteBonnie - your quilt looks LOVELY!
Please reach out to us at VermontQuiltDesign@gmail.com if you have any questions!
Now now be careful driving his car. Your family is amazing. All the best for Jason. The smith mountain morning is on my list I have never seen a surprising brown pink version. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you're with your son, though I’m sorry for the reason. The quilts made in a new color variation are so fun! Very inspirational — I should get going on those! The Old Town with navy background and Smith Morning Mountain in pinks and browns? Sooo great!
ReplyDeletei THINK THE rectangle quilt above might be from Laundry Basket Quilts. She did an online class called Friendship. This quilter arranged her rectangles differently than Edyta suggested. The other quilt is called The Magic Garden, a 2025 BOM by Missouri Star. I believe there may still be a kit or two in reds and greens.
ReplyDeleteI just saw the red & cream quilt with trees and Lemoyne stars on Etsy. It's called HC Christmas Quilt and is sold by Vermont Quilt Design. It's a beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe coneflower quilt is a pattern called Everbloom by Pen & Paper Patterns. You can see it here

the one next to wanderlust reminds me of a bitcoin?
ReplyDelete-cindy in redwood city
Glad to see your son doing well. Another outing would be to hunt for the Portland troll created by Thomas Dambo (Danish artist). He creates trolls out of scraps!!! We have 5 up here in Seattle area. I think you would get a kick out of it
ReplyDeleteI hope your driving here in the PNW went well. Be warned it seems these days that a spend limit is just a suggestion. Most people seem to go about 20 over. Unless it is rush hour and then you creep along. Be ready for the dark to come early. Sunset is before 5 pm. November is our second wettest month of the year so we get lots of dark gray days. I have to admit that in the winter months I want to sew with lots of bright colors. Lots and lots of bright colors!
ReplyDeleteGreat porch shot! I think my favorite this week was the pink & brown Smith Mountain Morning! Lovely Old Town finish with the different background.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with Jason. Glad to hear he is doing well. Happy stitching!
The Bargello is a pattern by Jackie Robinson. it is called Weaver Fever.
ReplyDeletePrayers all healing progresses with Godspeed.
ReplyDeleteCould the rectangle geometric quilt be an Escher inspired pattern. I cannot remember gentleman’s name, Chris? In Wisconsin. Sorry for my incomplete info, but I am sure someone here will fill in the blanks. V.Anda
