When it Rains - We Quilt!

We waited and waited for the rain to subside -

It began in earnest around 1pm., and never stopped.

It poured.  And it poured.  And it poured.

Summer rains are not like fall or winter rains - it's quite lovely to be out on the porch, so that is exactly where we gathered.

While there were no "over the rail" photo ops...we did what we could on the porch so everyone could get a photo of whatever they worked on, finished, or brought to share from last time.

There were also plenty of design wall items that didn't make it out to the porch, so this is just from the top of my camera roll on down in no particular order.

Sharon's Unity quilt in red and grey is coming along!

I think this is Ginny's Hunter’s String Star, which also comes as a free bonus pattern with the purchase of my book String Frenzy.  I love it in blues where I used red and neutral for my own.

Edna's kitty cat quilt for a niece!

This is Charlotte's Winter Blues done in scrappy everything!

There is loads of progress on Cathedral Stars!
Pattern from the Free Patterns Tab.

The cabana blocks became this:

Oh, these are going to be so much fun!

Warm Hands, Warm Heart! is getting borders!

Nola is making a tote out of Hearts of Hope blocks!

I also spy some On Ringo Lake action happening!

String X from the Free Patterns Tab is covering this design wall!

And there are a couple of Jamestown Landings from String Fling in progress!

The red just warms my heart -

And the yellow, black, grey and white? WOWSERS!

A lovely Catching Rainbows finish!  Awesome!

This is the point where we all headed out to the porch with our quilts to see what we could do while still staying dry.  Some of the photos are a bit backlit, but it was all we could do with the rain that continued to pour.

Rebecca finished her West Virginia sampler!

She is on a tear to finish UFOs and is making a great dent!

I love this Happily Scrappily Irish from Adventures With Leaders & Enders. It was started here a year ago, and came back for a visit.  There is something so charming about a scrappy traditional quilt.

Sharon's Hearts of Hope!

And here is that yellow beauty in progress!

Rhododendron Trail is ready for borders!

Wonky Wishes brought many oooohs & ahhhhhs!

As did Allietare!

I love that aqua with the red -

We are missing two here - one was napping, the other was sewing!

Thanks for coming, May Quiltvillians - it was a treat to have you here.  Can't wait for next year!

I know this post is long, but there are still some things going on so I'll keep it short.

If you haven't yet - don't forget to enter my Maymont PDF pattern and fabric roll Gift-Away currently going on, drawing to happen SATURDAY.  Just a few days left to enter.

Yesterday was my day on Pat Sloan's Tantalizing Table Toppers blog tour. Visit my post and get your entry in to win a copy of her new book.  Find who the next stop on the blog tour is and visit them.  Enter on each site on their day - there are 12 stops all sharing their projects and hosting gift-aways this week.  Good luck!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Words may say one thing, but tone of voice says more than words ever could.
Be careful HOW you say something. Tone of voice can hurt or heal.
What did yours do today?⁣
Pineapple Blossom quilt from the Free Patterns Tab. Have you made one?

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

  4. Ok..that yellow and grey Jamestown Landing is scrumptious! Those aren’t my colors, but I loved it! Wish you’d send some of that rain to central Texas. It keeps teasing us, but we’re burning up here!
