Good Monday Morning, Quiltvillians and visiting friends!
Today is a day I've been waiting for for months - ever since Pat Sloan asked if I would like to participate in the release of her new book Tantalizing Table Toppers.
Oooooh! New things! And small projects - so fun to make. I could hardly wait to dive in.
And you can dive in too! There are 12 projects, and 12 blog hops along with 12 chances to win your own copy by following along!
My eye was captivated by the cover - strips, strings and checkerboards! Bring it on!
I was thrilled with the variety of toppers and runners found within Tantalizing Table Toppers.
Game Night!
Life's a Picnic!
(I just love these summer colors!)
Even placemats to spruce up a table setting!
Flower Stand!
(I'm also loving the quilting on this one!)
Tea Time!
So delicate -
Main Street Perks!
It's just about red/white/blue season!
What project did I choose? Italian Cafe!
It was a very rainy muddy March/April here in the Southwestern corner of rural Virginia, and I kept focusing on the upcoming summer months while choosing my fabrics.
I pulled from Fat-Quarters in the stash, many that didn't have any selvage info on them - so imagine my surprise when I shared my progress photos with Pat, and discovered that the border print I used to tie everything together was one of HER fabrics!!
It was KISMET. SERENDIPITY - whatever you want to call it. It was a fun moment!
And because she said we should make our projects in our own styles, I decided to scrap up my neutrals from block to block while keeping the colored fabrics themselves consistent throughout the table runner.
I absolutely love it!
I wanted it to be a bit longer for the sideboard at Quiltville Inn, so I added a half row of blocks to the right end.
Patterns are so easily adjustable according to where you decide you want your topper/runner to land, and who you are gifting it to.
That red/white striped binding fabric has been in my stash for at least 25 years. It's perfect here.
Thanks, Pat!
