The story goes that by the time the fireweed has lost its blooms from first the bottom of the stalk and finally up to the top, that summer is over. The fireweed does not lie and is never wrong!

ReplyDeleteI love Alaska and visiting Homer is always fun. There is another saying about fireweed as well. The height of the fireweed is the depth of the snow in the coming winter. My fireweed still has blooms so I know summer is not over yet.

ReplyDeleteI just talked to two ladies on Friday, August 2 on their way to Alaska. They are planning their return trip for the middle of September. We need more tourist season. lol
