iPhone-o-Gram! Exploring Homer!

A restful Sunday drive from Sterling to Homer--the weather is cold and drizzly, the tourist season in Alaska is drawing to a close--

The story goes that by the time the fireweed has lost its blooms from first the bottom of the stalk and finally up to the top, that summer is over. The fireweed does not lie and is never wrong!

More photos to follow---what a gorgeous corner of the globe!

Wow, the fireweed is more reliable than a weather person! Alaskans are fortunate!

A year ago, it was cold and drizzly there too! Hope you enjoyed Homer. Did you get to eat out on the Spit? I love that area! Enjoy! ~Jeanne

Halibut on a stick out on the Spit!! Do not miss it! And please, please, please do not miss a bus tour (at the very least) of Denali if you can squeeze it in this trip or next.

I am so glad you got the opportunity to explore my little corner of heaven. I live in Homer and I feel so fortunate to be able to live here!

I need to get back up to Alaska one day - it has been about 10 years since I was there!

I just want to know where you get the energy for this globe trotting and time changes. I t used to take me a couple of days to recover from time changes, now it's even more time! I so envy you! Glad you had fun!

I love Alaska and visiting Homer is always fun. There is another saying about fireweed as well. The height of the fireweed is the depth of the snow in the coming winter. My fireweed still has blooms so I know summer is not over yet.

I just talked to two ladies on Friday, August 2 on their way to Alaska. They are planning their return trip for the middle of September. We need more tourist season. lol
