Ok, I was really embarrassed when I took off my shoes for my evaluation and there was a huge thread ball in the top of my sock!
So what do I do? Grab the camera to document of course! Now you can laugh WITH me!!

iPhone-O-Gram! Call it thread play??
Yes, Doctor E, I am a quilter! Could it be the thread adhered to my socks that gave it away!!? Lol!!
Ok, I was really embarrassed when I took off my shoes for my evaluation and there was a huge thread ball in the top of my sock!
So what do I do? Grab the camera to document of course! Now you can laugh WITH me!!

I'm always afraid that there would be a piece of thread hanging off my rear end and nobody will tell me..

loll in our hair, on our rears, attached to pets, hubby takes a few to work.......... threads are what hold us together !. or the saying, "Quilters come with strings attached" !!

ReplyDeleteFOTFROLOL this is just so funny...I often find my sponge in the freezer--who knew? We all are so intense with our crafts, our minds whirring away on that project...it's why I find bits and scraps of fabric all over the rugs in the whole house.....we just really get into it....Julierose :-)))

ReplyDeleteMany years ago I was in a local fabric store and an elderly friend and quilter was just checking out. She needed a little more change for her purchase and reached into her pocket and instead of coins pulled out a handful of large thumbtacks--the kind you use on the old wooden quilting frames. We laughed so hard! The cashier said, "Now there is a true quilter."
I have to laugh because my students use to find thread hanging on me all the time. They would laugh because they knew I had been sewing before school.
ReplyDeleteMy black yoga pants carry thread everywhere with me. I can't leave home without it.
I embarass MR on a reguar basis with thread. It doesn't bother me at all, lol. After all it's not as if I'm dirty or smelly, just thready ;o)
ReplyDeleteI know what you are saying Bonnie..it happens to all of us. I stand in the vestibule of church weekly while being inspected by hubby. I'm always running back for a "few more stitches" before leaving home and I have it all over my sweater and once even in my hair..that's okay. I don't want the cure. He won't let me go down the aisle w/ him till I have been "cleaned up".
ReplyDeleteOne night I was sewing at 5:15pm and then realized I was usher at church. I had my pants on and zoomed out of the house and as I was listening to sermon I saw threads all over my pants and I had to serve communion next. Now when I saw I have my sweat pants on and then change to a clean pair of pants when I go out of the door.
ReplyDeleteI love it. My doctor says she can ignore almost anything if it is clean. The socks and thread are both clean therefore no harm no foul.

ReplyDeleteIt's an occupational hazard for the quilter. Though I don't think any stray threads have ever infiltrated my shoes, my clothes always have a few!
ReplyDeleteI can relate. I ran off to a meeting after snipping seams for a deni rag quilt and oh, the comments I got!
ReplyDeleteI once saw a bumper sticker that read, "you can always tell a quilter by the threads she wears". I could really identify with that!

ReplyDeleteGood one Bonnie! I worked as a bank teller before I retired and often came back from lunch with needles/thread in the front of my blouse or my thimble on. Made for interesting conversation.

ReplyDeleteMy 87 year old mother worked in a sewing factory many years ago and I remember how her clothes were covered with threads at the end of the day. When I finish a sewing marathon and look down and see the threads I remember that.
