~Great Links for Vintage Machine Collectors~
With the moving of our lives to Virginia, most of my vintage machines have been rehomed to live with other quilters and machine enthusiasts as I downsize my life to fit our small cabin on the mountainside.
Some of my machines are living out their best life at Quiltville Inn, my quilt retreat dream come true. I love to see quilters learning to treadle or use a vintage machine to sew on.
I've kept a couple of my favorite Featherweights of course, and the Singer 301 is my favorite hands down for piecing. I have a couple of treadles in my home studio as well.
My Singer 201 is always ready for a binding job - I keep the walking foot on it at all times.
I have a Rocketeer 500 in a cabinet that does the zig-zag job I need it to do when I need one - which isn't often.
But there aren't enough machines around to call it a "collection" any more. How many machines can I sew on at one time?
I would rather see the machines being used, loved and kept in good working order than just be part of a "collection" and not making anything.
I did want to keep the library of links below accessible to all - there are so many valuable and knowledgeable sites I refer back to often.
The most used and most requested link is at the top - dating charts for Singer machines. I refer to it often.
I hope you fellow vintage machine lovers may find these links useful.
