I got home after 9pm last night --- falling into bed about 9:30pm and sleeping through the night until 7:30am! I think I needed it.
Travel might have you just sitting there while someone ELSE does the driving, or the flying, but it is just exhausting! And yes, I worked on hexagons. I haven’t shown a picture of progress for a while, so I’ll have to get that out and show you how far that border section has come.
This morning I looked at a HUGE stack of mail that had accumulated on the kitchen counter while I’ve been gone, and there was one big envelope I’d been waiting for!
I have a featured article in “ON TRACK!”, the official magazine of the International Machine Quilters Association.
Membership in IMQA includes the informative longarm quilter's magazine ON TRACK! 4 (four) times a year, optional business listing on the IMQA web site, discounted quilt entry fees for Machine Quilters Showcase (MQS®), discount cards for supply purchases and regional group support.
Within this publication you can find some of the most beautifully machine quilted quilts imaginable --- interviews from well known long arm quilters, tools, techniques and tips to help you hone your quilting skills.
I have THREE extra copies to offer as a Give-Away! If you’d like to win a copy of On Track Magazine, Winter 2012 issue --- just leave me a comment below!
Remember if you are commenting without a blogger-visible email address or as "anonymous" that you need to leave me your name and your email address so I have a way to contact you.
All I'm asking is that if you leave a comment, you tell one friend ((Or one group of friends)) by passing on the link to this post so they can enter too! Feel free to post this give-away link to your fb friends, email lists, message boards, wherever quilters gather ---get the word out and let the fun begin!
We’ll draw the winners on Friday morning.
Remember that this coming SATURDAY is the first Saturday in MARCH!, which means it’s Yard Sale Saturday! Be getting those items that you want to sell ready, write your post, and be ready to come link it to mine. Mine will go live at 7am Eastern time.
The rest of today for me? Laundry is running! Book edits await, this huge stack of snail mail needs taken care of, there are book orders to mail out that have come in while I’ve been gone, and I’ve got to do things like make a bank run, and find myself a podiatrist ---
Can anyone relate to BUNION PAIN!? OH, is this ever going to slow me down
welcome back Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win a copy of the magazine!

ReplyDeleteI would love a copy of the magazine not only to read the article about you but also to see what is going on "accross the pond" in the quilting world. Thanks for the opportunity.

ReplyDeleteI'd love to get a copy of this magazine. I have never heard of it, but I'm curious of all about quiting!
Best wishes,
Barbara
I would love to win a copy of the magazine. I've been a long time follower and admirer of your work!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win. Have already shared a link with a friend.
ReplyDeleteI think you meant that Saturday is the first Saturday in MARCH, not February. Or am I having deja vous?
Did I just ask you that?

ReplyDeleteYou have so many interesting designs on your site, today I will start cutting pieces to 'Bricks and Stepping-Stones' from my husband's old shirts. He needs a quilt to keep warm.
Since we most probably cannot get in Germany, I'd love to have one. I will have to do my own quilting again soon since Aby is leaving us and moves back into your area....
ReplyDeleteLisa
I am salivating for a copy of that magazine. I've got to check out their subscription information!!

Thanks for sharing all your ideas and thanks for the chance for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would love to receive that magazine--if ony for ideas to share with the long armers I pay to quilt my tops. And, yes, I can relate to bunion pain--my only regret is waiting so long before having them fixed--well worth the temporary pain and inconvenience!Sorry I didn't get a chance to slide a bit south and take a class this time.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this magazine and would love to check it out. I enjoy your site and your patterns. I don't know how you do it all!! Thanks. Sandi1100@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteHey Bonnie! I've just started renting time on a lang-arm, so I would love a copy of the magazine to educate me :-) I CAN relate to bunion pain, and the only thing I've ever found to help, is getting off it and putting that foot up for a while, maybe some ice, too! You have quite a list for today, just take it one thing at a time....
ReplyDeleteWould love to read that magazine. I'm starting to free motion quilt and love seeing different designs. Will be happy to share the link with my quilty friends! Thanks for the opportunity. lksanner15672@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of this magazine, would love a copy to see what it is like.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Sure...please enter me in this drawing. It would be extra fun to have a copy of this issue, not only because you have an article in it, but because I've known the cover's featured quilter, Kristin Vierra, since she was a small child. I love how life winds around, especially in the quilting world.
ReplyDeleteJudy
I hadn't heard of this magazine. I imagine it would be a wealth of information to me, a self-taught longarmer who needs to learn more skills! I had a bunionectomy a year ago--helped tremendously (no pain now) but it was a long recovery. Good luck with your bunion pain!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win the magazine and read your article.
ReplyDeleteI will be interested to see what you find put about your bunion. I've had one for years and been told to wait as long as possible to have anything done to it because there can be serious problems. I'm getting to the point where I don't think it can wait much longer. Between the bunion and back problems I've had to give up jogging and my waistline has suffered. Gettingold is no fun ;-)
Hi, Bonnie! I would love to win a copy of this magazine! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see your published work.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for yard sale Saturday. I'd love to pick up another bargain or two!
Hope you get a nap today!
Patti
I am new to long arm quilting. I would love to preview this magazine. Thanks for a chance to win this give away!lpnjam@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI also have not heard of this magazine, but you absolutely cannot go wrong with roses. What a gorgeous quilt!!
ReplyDeleteDoes this Int'l Machine Quilters Association only cater to long arm quilters? Or is this group (and magazine) also for those of us that use our home sewing machines to machine quilt?
I'd love to win this and will put a link to this post on my blog. When you can't sew... it is wonderful to look through books and magazines to get inspiration. I have one of your books on my nightstand with my kindle for those days I can't get into the sewing room. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this magazine before Bonnie. Would love to win it.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win a copy of this magazine, I'm a longarmer but haven't joined this group.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find a quick solution to your foot pain! If your feet hurt it affects your whole life.
Boy you really are tired --- first Saturday in February?!...but, I see an earlier commentor pointed out that we are soon going to be in March! I am meeting with one of my small groups, so will pass on the info about this magazine and giveaway. I've not heard of the magazine before --- looks like it might be very interesting. Last I knew, recovery from bunion surgery is very long --- like six weeks off your feet! Good luck with that!

ReplyDeleteYou are just a wealth of information. This is a magazine I have never even heard of. Wondering if it is a subscription only or on the shelf magazine. Would love to win a copy just to sample and see if it is something I would love to continue to have. I will be talking about this at my quilt guild meeting tomorrow. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie:
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower, a fairly new quilter (3 years) and have just purchased a Handiquilter long arm (2 weeks ago). I haven't even threaded the machine yet...savoring the anticipation! I've been so inspired by your ideas and the energy that you add to the quilting world! I'm studying your patterns and color play...trying to be brave in using my stash. I've never heard of the magazine but love to read about your stash busting ideas! Please consider me for a magazine...Piece- Cathy J.

ReplyDeleteWelcome home Bonnie. I enjoy following your travels. I would love to win a copy of the magazine. I am working on using up my scraps...however, the more I use the more I have. lol Hugs
ReplyDeleteWould love to win. Have never heard of the magazine before.
ReplyDeleteSign me up for the magazine drawing. Call me about bunions. Seriously. Emily had surgery twice, and it was pain-free. Call me!
ReplyDeleteI'm just starting to learn to machine quilt on a frame and would love to see what the experts are doing. My humble efforts will pale in comparison but it will give me something to strive for! Thanks for all your inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI would love a copy ,I have never seen this magazine before .
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a copy of the magazine! Thanks! s2fleming@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI heard of this magazine - but of course, can't get it over here. So, I would LOVE to win !! Thanks for offering this lovely giveaway!

ReplyDeleteDonna

Bonnie, it would be nice to win the magazine but I'm writing to tell you about my bout of foot pain. Not as exciting but it may help. I had severe spurs on my heels. Next to surgery, which was not an option I was caring for, I tried an old remedy that my Mom told me about. So for two weeks, I soak my feet in the tub with Epsom salts in water as hot as I could stand. And I have not had another spur since and this was many years ago. So when my feet feel tired and achy, I do have bunions, I soak them for a day or two and gone. Just a suggestion. ninepatch@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI would love to get a copy of the nagazine, especially if there is an artical by you. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win the magazine, and what a neat title. The one thing I learned about bunions is you have to wear really comfortable/ugly shoes. If you don't your feet will pay for it. I found Crocs a couple of years ago (like walking on a cloud) after starting to stand on my feet for 10 hours straight from my job. I had the bunion surgery when I was in my teens, The first month after the surgery is the worst. With your schedule I don't see how you can fit that kind of time in.
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly new to longarm quilting- just got a Gammill nine months ago and am having a ball! I didn't know this magazine existed, but will certainly look for it now.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you are glad to be home. Thanks for the chance at a magazine!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting looking magazine. First time I've heard of it. Would love to win it as I am a novice at machine quilting. Thanks for the giveaway. M
ReplyDeleteTry some supportive shoes....I know but us nurses discovered long ago its about the comfort not the style :0).
ReplyDeleteI'd love a chance to look at some great quilts with beautiful quilting, I never get tired of looking at quilts.
Thanks for the chance to win, welcome home, and relax for a bit,,
I bet you'll be back on the road in a short time huh?
Oh those roses! Wow, for a girl that loves roses as much as I do I would love to check that magazine out and see how beautifully they are quilted, and a lovely top-up dose of inspiration from you would be the cat's whiskers :)
ReplyDeleteI used to struggle with a lot of foot pain. The only shoes that were comfortable were Earth Shoes. You can buy the lower end ones at Wal-Mart but they have a web site. Try them. You will like them and they are very attractive too.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great new magazine for beautiful machine quilting...for those of us who love it! Thanks for the chance to win, Bonnie. You take care, girl. Wanda Gene
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of this magazine. I would love to win a copy to see your article, but also because it would be great to get new machine quilting ideas. Thanks for a chance!
ReplyDeleteI would love t have a copy of the magazine it is anew one to me. The added bonus is your article.
ReplyDeleteYou might have to get new footwear to accommodate the bunion until it settles down a bit. Hopefully the podiatrist will help you get the best fit for your feet.
You have a brutal schedule try to get your feet up and take a breather.
I would love to have a copy! Thank you for the chance!

Thanks for all you do to encourage scrap quilting. dblmstudio@charter.net
ReplyDeleteI know how much work you have to do when you return from a trip, so your day will be busy! I would love to win one of these magazines!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great magazine. Thanks for the chance to win a copy.
ReplyDeleteI looked at the article titles listed on the cover of the magazine and instantly knew which on you had written. Oh, and I can relate to the bunion pain. The surgery to fix it can have a long recovery time, too. But, well worth it in the long run. You can probably work that into your schedule about 2018. LOL
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great magazine. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGlad you and your luggage made it back safe and sound and you got a good nights sleep! Would love to see a copy of that magazine, it sounds really interesting!

I'd love a copy too! But I'd also be interested in how you've gone from designing and making stuffed dolls/animals to traveling all over the country, teaching, designing, writing books about and making quilts. You have accomplished and are accomplishing so much. By the time I get through a day of work, I'm lucky to get supper on the table and read your column before I start falling asleep at the computer! You're amazing! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteKaren
I'll be certain to spread the word. I do even without the pull of winning! All 15 swappers have turned in their Chunky Churndashes; this week I'll be mixing them up and sending them out. Next up is Crabapple Swappin'. Had a great weekend with Part 7 Orca Bay. I should be assembling this week. Going to pick up the Bloc-Loc for flying geese to square up the pieces in Part 7. I used the Bloc-Loc to square up the pieces of the border...OH SO NICE. Good luck finding a good FOOTMAN. Sounds like your pain threshhold has reached it's max. :( Sandi
ReplyDeleteWould love to win the magazine. Will share it with my guild.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your wonderful blog, you share so many things!!
