More Kismet blocks were added to the design wall in the wee small hours of the night!
Kismet came after we had Fish School blocks as our Leader & Ender challenge a few years ago. You'll still find that one under the Free Patterns tab.
And yes, our NEW 2025 Leader & Ender challenge is coming SOON!
With July right around the corner, I'm happy to see Dawn's Early Light from String Frenzy happening on this wall! Those little red/white friendship stars were so much fun to make!
Arkansas Crossroads quilt!
I found a free tutorial HERE.
And yes, that runner on the left is made with leftover Indigo Way blocks!
Something seriously cute and bunny-liscious happening here!
Moda Blockhead block play!
In my own studio -
I The ankle is not letting me move back and forth from the retreat house next door much. I've been icing and elevating. Doing all of the things, but a girl still has to sew!
Something is brewing and I can't wait to share it with you. No, it is not the Leader & Enter (Though that is being worked on between the seams too!) and it is NOT the mystery, though that will need to get underway soon. I'm working on drawings right now...I have an idea that needs to expand.
I have next week off because of the holiday weekend upcoming - so more desk time, more machine time, more planning on plotting about colors and themes and all of that exciting stuff.
But this thing.....it's been on the back burner since last fall, and it stalled out. It was unexciting. It had blank spaces that didn't connect to anything. It needed a reworking and I'm now so excited about this one that I can't stop.
Except for this ankle.....
So after 3 blocks I headed home and iced, elevated, napped, elevated some more and finished up my evening with:
Binding, binding and more binding.
And a whole lot of Zoey love.
I love the fact that dogs are sensitive enough to know when something is not quite right, even if it is a hurt ankle.
The cats? They don't care...even if they know...they don't care.
Little Lahinch is DONE!
I quilted with a sandy gold colored thread in an edge-to-edge design called Swirling Leaves by Jessica Schick.
I'll fold it away until October...and then I think it will be perfect for the round front foyer table at the inn.
With all my binding now done....I think it's back to hexies. Can you see me making a face as I type this?
I'll be drawing for two winners who will each receive a Fireweed PDF pattern from me and a Facets of Red fabric roll from Cotton to Quilts.
I am so excited! We had 3619 entries!
Who is entry 2844?
Deb Mould!
And entry 1143 is:
Rebecca Wilson!
Congrats, ladies!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Happy weekend, Quilters!
If your plans today involve fabric, raise your hand!

Congratulations to the 2 ladies!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you are staying off your ankle for the most part. I hope it heals quickly for you.
Lots of pretties being made there at the Inn.
Your table topper is just gorgeous. It will look lovely on your table.
Cloudy day here, very overcast.
Well try to have a Sparkling day
Blessings 🙏 ❤️
In ancient Egypt, cats were worshipped as gods and goddesses. Cats have never forgotten this.
ReplyDeleteOh Bonnie, I would so much love to pick up my hexie project. But that's only because I have a dogfood making day ahead of me. I have about 16 lbs of boneless chicken thighs to cut into strips and then put through the meat grinder. Then chop a pound of carrots and spinach into tiny pieces, and then mince about 4 apples (making sure there isn't a bit of skin or any of the core in there). That all gets cooked together in stages since putting that all together at once is too much for me to handle. In another pot, about 4 cups of rice gets cooked and added to the huge pot (the kind that you put your canning jars in to boil in the seal). Then the mix is measured into 1 cup portions and stored in food saver bags in the freezer - half a bag in the morning and the other half for her dinner. It's a whole day job for me but I usually get about 10 weeks of food out of it. I really don't like to cook so when the time comes to make my little diva's food again, I make enough to last a long time. I really wish she'd eat store bought dog food, but after spending a fortune trying different brands with her turning her nose up and walking away from each one, I tried this recipe. She loves it and waits in the kitchen for me to put it in a bowl and nuke it for 15 seconds. And she gobbles it down like she hasn't eaten in days. So, think of me, slaving over a hot stove, wishing I were you sitting back with my hexies.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried rubbing Arnicare cream on your bruise. I think it helps it go away faster.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sewing
Congrats to the winners of the Fireweed PDF and beautiful fabrics!
ReplyDeleteSmart idea for the quilter to make a cute table runner out of left over Indigo Way blocks. I am definitely copying that idea asap with my leftovers! Please tell the quilter that one of her HSTs in the top block on the left side is turned the wrong way. I don't like to point out other people's mistakes but if she hasn't noticed yet I think she'll appreciate fixing it before it gets quilted. I wish someone had told me that I had a unit turned the wrong way on a wedding gift quilt. I didn't notice until I was looking at a picture after it was quilted and gifted. :-(
I hope your ankle gets to feeling better! Have fun working on hexis while resting.
I'm happy to report that I finished the edge to edge quilting on Old Town!
Have a great weekend, Jenny
