June Quiltvillians - It's A Wrap!

Maybe the best weather comes in June.

Or maybe we just notice it more because May was so wet and windy and unfriendly.

Whatever weird weather patterns seemed to control our activities during the month of May seemed to have moved on - finally- allowing us to enjoy the last couple of days of the June Quiltvillians retreat.

And yes!  We got another road hike in yesterday, but we were so busy chatting that we didn't bother to take any photos.

There were quilt tops to finish up.

There were Indigo Way bindings to finish on the porch.

Not sure what the pattern is for this one, but it's a great use of scraps!

This medallion has been growing.

And so have the giant Swoon blocks.

One row of Morning Glories together!

And then it was porch rail time.

The Hearts of Hope quilt is found in my Solidarity pattern. Hamilton Gardens is complete and ready for trimming and quilting!

Potato Chip quilt and Silk Path!

Spangled by Kim Diehl, and a Virginia quilt museum pattern I can't remember the name of. Do you know it? Leave it in the comments section below.

Indigo Way and Exploding Heart.

Ready...And...Swap!

Triple Treat at the far left, Zinnia Seeds and another Triple Treat!

(Also...the landscaping feature that son Jeff is working on.)

The consensus is:

This one is called Sunny Lanes and inspired by a vintage quilt.

We are looking for the pattern source for this one -

The blocks make the letter S if you look at it that way -

And once you see it, you can't unsee it!

A bit blurry - sorry! Old Town.

Carolina Chain from the Addicted to Scraps book.

Frolic waiting for borders!

Whew!

And this is how we know that quilters were pedal to the metal all week!

What a marvelous showing from the June Quiltvillians!

Thanks for an awesome week, ladies!

Folks are likely already on the road as I finish up this post and head on over to get laundry under way.

The inn is on break while I am gone to Iceland, and we'll start back up again when I return.

This is the time of year for "big projects" best done in the warm weather and I'm looking forward to see what the landscaping looks like when I get back.

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Yep. Pretty much!

I guess we all have to figure it out as we go.

Happy Tuesday, folks!

  1. Jeff is doing a fantastic job on the landscaping. The new wall looks great.
Indeed it's a marvelous showing from the June Quiltvillians. Loved all the projects and finishes!
The beautiful quilt referencing the Virginia Quilt Museum is called Harrisonburg. Wendy Shepherd and Pat Sloan did a quilt along with Wendy's pattern in 2023 as a fund raiser for the museum. Wendy's pattern is available for purchase here: https://www.vaquiltmuseum.org/shop-online-store

I believe that quilt pattern is Portuguese Tiles by M'lissa Rae Hawley. It's in her Phenomenal Fat Quarter Quilts book. I've made two of them! Kathy

I believe the pattern for the “S” quilt is called Collage. It was a pattern on Robert Kaufman quilts at one time. Lovely quilts ladies!! Colleen G.

Silk Path is gorgeous!! Is the red Silk Path made with larger size strips than Bonnie‘s pattern? It looks like the blocks are bigger than the brown Silk Path. I have that pattern, but I’m a little intimidated to begin.
