it’s an action-packed evening here in Quiltville --
And let me tell you, you ain’t seen nothing until you’ve seen Bonnie running like a crazy woman to get last minute book orders out and pack for a cruise AND do Quilt-Cam at 9pm before leaving the next morning!
But all of my checklist is just about handled so we are ready to do this thing.
Besides, Quilt-Camming with you means I get an extra hour of piecing time into this run around day, and I will take any excuse that I can get to spend more time with the fabric and the machine.
But before we get sewing – we’ve got a special giveaway to draw for.
I am giving away one copy of the Nov/Dec 15 Quiltmaker Magazine issue that is just hitting news stands now – featuring my quilt Jingle Bell Square!
What a great issue! And you also get the 12 bonus blocks insert!
I’m also sweetening the pot with these interfacings:
Timtex heavy interfacing!
Fast 2 Fuse Interfacing –fusible on BOTH sides!
Fast 2 fuse interfacing-light!
Fast 2 Fuse interfacing-Heavy!
Fast 2 clean- Mini Microfiber Static Cling Cleaners!
If you like to make bags, purses, wallets, fiber art bowls, or any craft that needs a bit of body – these are great products! And even better, each of these interfacing craft packs comes WITH a free project included!
Let’s draw baby!
#58 out of 1197 entries!
Yahoo, Beth!!
I’ve sent Beth an email so I’ll be mailing her package off as soon as I hear back from her!
So what is Bonnie doing tonight during Quilt-Cam?
I’m RE-MAKING!
One hexie short of a rosette!
No, I’m not doing hexies tonight – not really. But I’ve had a WHOOPS – I’ve lost a quilt! I can’t for the life of me find my “A Little Bit Hexie” sample and I last saw it here when I returned from Tuscany, so I know it is around here but I can’t find it.
((No it wasn’t hiding where the fit bit was found under the printer stand.))
This just reiterates to me another reason why making BIG QUILTS is better than small ones. They are harder to lose!
I need this sample for when I leave for Peru at the end of the month, it’s our hands on travel workshop because we won’t have machines on top of Machu Pichu. So I’m in re-make mode.
I’ll finish the rosette on the plane to Florida tomorrow --
Tonight I’m making the background!
On the cruise I hope to get it appliqued to the background that I finish tonight…
I’ve cut matched pairs of quarter square triangles for hour glass units using the companion angle ruler. I’ve got my cornerstone squares and background cut. This is my plan!
You can find the free tutorial for making your OWN A Little Bit Hexie under the free patterns tab at the top of the blog.
Sewing on Petula the Blue Wizard tonight!
Are you ready to join me? Click the arrow on the screen below to start the feed.
And remember, if we get dropped by Hangouts on Air, I’ll need about 5 minutes to start another feed and embed THAT into this page as well, so if we are ever stopped..give me 5 minutes, and then refresh the page to see if I am back. If so, there will be two screens on the page and you’ll start watching the second one.
Let’s Sew!
HI BONNIE! So nice to "see" you again! I loved Thomas' question! I completely concur with you! You KNOW what I am doing tonight! PACKING! Thanks for sharing tonight with us! Have fun on your cruise!

ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, Greetings from Southern California! It's so good to catch you live on quilt cam! Since I met you last June in Sacramento, I have become hexie crazy! Joined an on line international hexie flower swap. I have made and received over 60 flowers.
ReplyDeleteTonight I am preparing hexie kits for a Mom's night out. I will be teaching about 12 women how to make hexie flower christmas ornements. Fun fun! I would post pictures but don't know how from my phome! Hugs to you Bonnie! Love Debi Hanna
Good evening Bonnie, Kathi from Virginia here, I wish I were sewing with you, but I'm listening to you while I pack for the cruise!! I am so exited and have spent time getting my 1 1/2" strips all ready. Garden Party is such a gorgeous quilt and I am hoping to get a lot of it done while still enjoying the other fun activities on our cruise.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteI just have to mention your shirt. Lmbo mess with my fabric I will rip your seams out. Where did you find said shirt. It's absolutely hilarious 😂. KAREN KANE from Southern Maryland
Ps the wind and rain here is horrible, we've already had trees come down. Thanks for quilt cam. Not working on anything just watching.
I came home to my copy of the Quiltmaker Magazine. I notice the Addicted to Scraps block is the same as the one in your featured Quilt. I like the look of it in the Christmas fabrics. Thanks for QuiltCam tonight. I've been looking forward to it all day. I got signed up for Quilt U this week and can't wait until I see which Quilt is on the first episode. the 12th can't come soon enough. Have a great cruise.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie. Working on Jingle Bell Square while enjoying Quilt Cam tonight. Love, love, love it..
ReplyDeleteHi, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteThank you for quiltcam tonight, and for your input on the activity trackers. I started using a fitbit that hooks on my bra this summer. ( You and I compared notes on them at the Mary Koval workshops). It was great until I went back to work as a school bus driver last month. Now I find that it is tracking the motion of the bus as steps. The day I did an after school trip I got credit for over 18,000 steps!!! Now I just use it on the weekends.
Have a great cruise!
