This is the day we by-passed Coco Cay and headed straight for St Thomas!
There wasn’t too much dissention within the ranks, kids are happy with pool water and sunshine as much as they would be beach sand and surf.
Frankly, a day to sit and stitch on ship is much more to my liking than trying to avoid being fried by the sun and sweltering in the heat and humidity of a Bahamian October.
With workshops rearranged to start at 1pm TODAY instead of tomorrow, we had an open morning on our hands to find a quiet place to sit and stitch before this afternoon’s activities began.
We tried the solarium area – too hot, humid and noisy.
We tried the library – too busy, not enough spots to sit, not great lighting, and again – too many people, hot, humid and noisy!
Where ELSE could we go?
Up Up Up Up Up to deck 14.
And no elevators allowed! We are doing our best to keep weight gain at bay while on this cruise ((Believe me, it is not going to be easy!)) and take the stairs as often as we can.
The thighs are burning!
Perfect! The Cloud Nine Lounge!
Lots of folks have found their way up here, but it is quiet and the a/c seems to be working – not to mention that the view is spectacular! We settled in, opened up our busy bags and began to stitch as we talked and laughed the morning away.
Island? We don’t need an island! We just needed this!
Hexies at the ready!
It IS shorts weather! Neutrals coming together.
Michelle is doing some wooly applique! Cute!
Tammy is doing some redwork! Adorable!
Perfect small take along project!
Irene is busy with 3/8’’ per side hexies!
((NUTS!!))
Is this bliss, or what?!
I think every day should be a Cloud Nine day!
Our workshop ran from 1pm to 5pm and just ended so we can get ready for “Formal Night” in the dining room tonight. I wonder how many will be making a bee-line to Johnny Rocket’s for burgers and fries instead?
Tonight our sewing room re-opens at 7:30 pm and the ladies have the choice of continuing to work on their Garden Party project, or take a short English Paper Piecing demo and workshop from me.
Musical review in the theater at 9pm!
It’s been a full good day, and tomorrow we do it all again!
