I received a very special email full of love for a magnificent lady and friend celebrating her 92nd birthday, so here I am participating in a shout-out of cheers and best wishes from my heart as well!
This is Elsie, and she is celebrating her 92nd birthday this week.
92 years, and still loving the fabric and the thread as much as ever, and dedicating her life to making quilts for those in need.
The following email was sent by Sandra:
Hi Bonnie
I've not emailed you in a very long time. I use to live on Cumberland Island, GA and moved to the Smokey Mountains, just west of where you are.
Bryson City, NC.
This is Mrs. Elsie, from Macon, GA.
Hi Elsie and Dallas!
Mrs. Elsie has given hundreds and hundreds, well... thousands now, I suppose. Who's counting?!?!
To Project Linus and other organizations and individuals. Dallas Boatwright is her partner in crime... :)
He crochets around the edges of so many fleece and quilts so quickly that his mother, Sherri can not keep up with quilting his tops!
Please wish Mrs. Elsie a very Happy Birthday from all of us quilting friends who are cheering her on for many, many more birthdays to come.
Mrs. Elsie, I am sending you all the best birthday wishes I can muster! What a great way to share your love of sewing ---and I’m sure you shared that beautiful cake too!She is my hero and the hero of so many. She inspires all who know her and are around her.She is 92 and the cake was made by our friend, Sherri Boatright.
God Bless you Mrs. Elsie. We love you.
