Jaxon’s Nine Patch! Digital Download Pattern!

jaxon2
I have been waiting a long time to be able to HAVE the time to sit down and write the pattern for the baby  quilt I made for my nephew Jaxon.  He was born in January, so it’s only taken me 7 months to get this far, but I’m sure HE doesn’t mind!

Since I am headed to Idaho from Las Vegas on Sunday, and I’ll get to hold him for the very first time on Sunday, I thought it would be great time to get this pattern finished and uploaded, just for you.

This pattern is full color with photos and graphics showing you every step along the way just how to get this baby quilt done with no muss, no fuss.

Want a bigger quilt?  It’s easy to just make more blocks to get the quilt the size that you want it to be.

Remember when I was working on this during my holiday break?

We cut fabric together!

We measured strip sets to be sure they reached the size they needed to be!

Remember – if it is shorter than it should be, skinny down your seam until it is right!

These blocks are so fun to make!

I think I need to make this AGAIN.

This was my day yesterday!

All of my Addicted to Scraps column blocks for 2016 are winging their way to Golden Colorado and the home of Quiltmaker Magazine!  I tried to have them ready before I left for Iowa, but I just needed a bit more time.  I’m glad they are on their way.

Also included is my block for the May 2016 issue of 100 blocks by 100 designers – Vol 13!  So excited for this one. It HAS to be come a real quilt in my life.  It HAS to. There are some great blocks in this little package...hurry to Colorado! And get there safe!

It all fits!  Barely -- but it FITS!

And with that, I’m off to LAS VEGAS!!  It’s going to be a fabulous retreat and I’ll be posting as often as I can here on the blog, and on Facebook and instagram.  Stay connected and follow along!

Happy Thursday, everyone!

  1. Bonnie, safe travels!! The only thing more impressive than your quilt designs, teaching ability, and prodigious output is your phenomenal energy! If you could bottle it, you would be a billionaire!

  2. Safe travels. Yay, Garden Party. I finished the front of mine last week. Have to get a picture up. I also did mine in reds for the alternate blocks. It was a very good exercise in cutting and sewing accurately. I loved making it. I remember watching you build Jaxon's quilt on Quilt Cam. It was fun to watch. I have three flimsies ready to sandwich now, and probably only have enough pins for one at a time. So I'll start with Garden Party, then move on to Box Kites and finally to the Grand Illusion Mystery. I rearranged the border blocks on the mystery and like my interpretation. Again, I need to get a picture up. Waiting to see veil pictures!!

I wish you would do a book on just baby quilts.

  4. Jaxson's Quilt looks Fabulous; and I think Sadie thinks you need to make another one too, maybe just for her? Does she ever get a quilt just for her?
