STILL – This IS a quilt that you can get done in very little time!
Click HERE for the free pattern.
It uses up copious amounts of 2.5” strips so you can really bust some fabric as well…that is unless….you decide that smaller is better and you cut things down to half scale like this:
CUTE CUTE CUTE!
Anne was working with 1-1/4” strips instead of our 2-1/2” !
This group was so fun – from our oldest, Irma, at 78 years young!
To our youngest, Becca – at 16 years old!
It was a wonderful day of sewing up the scraps! Some were making their quilts for charity, either for quilts of valor or several other organizations that this guild serves.
While it rained and poured and was rather nasty outside…we had all the sunshine we needed inside to keep us going!

Strip Twist, Chambersburg PA 2013 |
Today is my last day in Pennsylvania -- I'll be setting up this morning for my early afternoon guild lecture with the Chambersburg guild --and I'll head home to North Carolina tomorrow morning!
I wish I could attend one of your marathon get togethers that I love to read about! You have the dream job, and live it to the max. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat Class Bonnie, Everyone looks like they are having great fun, Love all the colors everyone chose for their blocks/quilts, they will be Gorgeous once they are completed :)
ReplyDeleteI just love watching all those different combos fly by!! What a lot of talented ladies!! Thank you for this glimpse into your class--I would have loved to have been there, too!!Julierose
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute mini version. Everything is cuter when it is tiny. It makes me want to miniaturize all your patterns. Too sweet.
ReplyDeletethat is a great block, I will need to remember that one.
ReplyDeleteNow, I want to make one of these, too. Another one for my To Do list! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI made one of these in red white and blue (scrappy) for a QOV. They do go together very quickly! I like that mini block though...
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed it. I wonder if Becca took an educational absence from school for this one LOL... shhhh I won't tell :)
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! I saw the slide about halfway through of some blocks in progress with lots of floral fabrics - I have seven of those fabrics in a rail fence quilt that I made a few years ago!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a fun quilt - added to my to do list...
Thanks for the slide show, there's going to be a lot of beautiful quilts come out of the class, I love the pattern and I'd printed it out quite some time ago, now I just need to free up my machine so I can make it. Thanks again, I love reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteAs always lots of fun quilters with lots of fun fabrics!
ReplyDeleteLove the blocks with the dog bones in! It must be really rewarding to have such an age range in your class, great to have young people acquiring sewing skills.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all these smiling faces :-)
ReplyDeleteSo many different looking ones just by changing the colors that are being used! I'm adding this one to my list as well. So many smiling faces!
ReplyDeleteIt is always terrific to see what your students have made. Thank-you for sharing with us.
