Strip Twistin’ All Day Long!

I’d love to say this is a quilt in a day, but truth be told, our quilter on the left started her Strip Twist  about 2 days ahead of class….She is gearing up on having everything done for a wedding, and was making good use of what time she had to get this top finished before she has to move on to finishing the wedding dress for the bride!

STILL – This IS a quilt that you can get done in very little time!

Click HERE for the free pattern.

It uses up copious amounts of 2.5” strips so you can really bust some fabric as well…that is unless….you decide that smaller is better and you cut things down to half scale like this:

CUTE CUTE CUTE!

Anne was working with 1-1/4” strips instead of our 2-1/2” !

This group was so fun – from our oldest, Irma, at 78 years young!

To our youngest, Becca – at 16 years old!

It was a wonderful day of sewing up the scraps!  Some were making their quilts for charity, either for quilts of valor or several other organizations that this guild serves.

While it rained and poured and was rather nasty outside…we had all the sunshine we needed inside to keep us going!

Strip Twist, Chambersburg PA 2013

Today is my last day in Pennsylvania -- I'll be setting up this morning for my early afternoon guild lecture with the Chambersburg guild --and I'll head home to North Carolina tomorrow morning!

What a cute mini version. Everything is cuter when it is tiny. It makes me want to miniaturize all your patterns. Too sweet.

Now, I want to make one of these, too. Another one for my To Do list! Beautiful!

I made one of these in red white and blue (scrappy) for a QOV. They do go together very quickly! I like that mini block though...

OMG!!! I saw the slide about halfway through of some blocks in progress with lots of floral fabrics - I have seven of those fabrics in a rail fence quilt that I made a few years ago!

This looks like such a fun quilt - added to my to do list...

Thanks for the slide show, there's going to be a lot of beautiful quilts come out of the class, I love the pattern and I'd printed it out quite some time ago, now I just need to free up my machine so I can make it. Thanks again, I love reading your posts.

Love the blocks with the dog bones in! It must be really rewarding to have such an age range in your class, great to have young people acquiring sewing skills.

So many different looking ones just by changing the colors that are being used! I'm adding this one to my list as well. So many smiling faces!
