It was a straight shot home with not a lot of time for dillydallying!
No antique malls beckoned to me.
I did not even stop for IKEA!
I've only got a couple hours of daylight time left to wash the contents of my suitcase, pack it all up again, get all the book orders done that came in the past week while I've been gone, and to get a good nights sleep so that I can fly out to Michigan in the morning!
Of course after loving on Sadie the dog and scratching Emmylou the cat I made a beeline for my cheddar featherweight :-)

She is as cheddar orange as any school bus driving down the road! :-)
I couldn't be happier, and I cannot wait to sew on her!
I especially love that the underside of her foot oedal is still the fuchsia pink of my long-lost featherweight. She will live on in my memory as I make new memories with this baby!
But that will have to wait until I return home from Michigan. I'm getting very excited about my visit this week and so grateful for the opportunity to do what I do – spend time with you!
Oh Bonnie she is gorgeous. I keep looking out for a feather weight. They are really pricey in the uk. Make sure you get some rest. Have a good flight tomorrow. X

I finally got my Internet service back this afternoon (after Hurricane Sandy), and what a pleasant surprise to see the picture of the new paint job on your Featherweight! She is a real beauty now! I love it! Nice touch that a little bit of pink has been left behind...it will be with you in spirit.

At least the news is reporting that is being done for homes which were flooded. Please know folks all over have been keeping you all in our hearts and prayers. I hope things continue to improve for you.

ReplyDeleteLove the new featherweight. Just a bit of trivia: school bus yellow is called chrome and the paint is registered with the Bureau of Standards. They all have to painted that color and no other bus can use that paint.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I took a very young boy to the firehouse for a tour. He was Very indignant because the new firetrucks were white and yellow, not red. I appreciate the school bus color for it's visibility. Bonnie's FW will probably glow like a beacon encouraging her spend some time sewing whenever she has time to breathe. All it needs is flashing lights.

ReplyDeleteLoving the fuchsia with the school bus yellow. Our school buses are not that colour, but my Aussie husband who was American born spent some time back in the US as a primary school kid and remembers those buses well. He described it to me as canary yellow.
