I've finally got my hiney in a seat on a plane bound for Newark, NJ! I've got a bit more than an hour layover there and will get into Greensboro about 10pm.
I had a fun day touring the mansion grounds---we didn't take time to do the inside---it was such a beautiful day I wanted to spend it outside!
Here are some more photos---not even sure I can remember which house is what at this point!
In my own bed tonight---yes!

Now I am crossing my fingers you have not jinxed yourself saying you will be in your own bed tonight!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy travels.
XOXOXO Subee
those mansions sure are something else - I remember driving along the road that goes past a lot of them back in the early 70's

If those beautiful homes are made of marble, which they appear to be, I am wondering if it came from VT? Hubster's family is from there and there are untold numbers of homes and some pretty gorgeous churches as well, made of marble. Simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSafe journeys, Bonnie.....

Hope you are almost home Bonnie. Enjoy home sweet home.
ReplyDeleteSweet dreams Suzanne from Maine
ReplyDeleteWelcome to NJ, Bonnie. I'm a transplant here and have lived in Salisbury, NC in the 70's. Hope you made it home OK. Wouldn't one of those mansions make a lovely spot for quilt retreats like Elm Creek Quilts or Aloha Quilts?
ReplyDeleteQuilt retreat? I agree with Sharon, sounds heavenly. Can you imagine cleaning that house? I would only clean the sewing room for sure. That's it. Only the sewing room shall be use.
